These sites typically provide shelter for families seeking relief, this time around, they couldn't."Outdoor sheltering is basically what we’re doing, people are in the lots in their cars and are acquiring hotel vouchers to put people in lodging," said Earl Potts with the American Red Cross. So far, 60 people have received hotel vouchers but last night they ran out, forcing people like Roberts to hunker down in their cars, trailers, and RVs. "We figure the family will stay together, and hunker down together."The Red Cross said as the holiday weekend comes to an end, they're hoping to get at least 200 more rooms available. "We’re able to provide meals at certain times of day and a place to park and sleep which makes it less but more of a priority situation."Alana said she's just thankful her family is safe and is going to return to what's left of her home once they're given the go-ahead."I don’t know if its truly set in. This morning my husband made me coffee and I thought about my brand new coffee maker I got for Christmas. I get camping coffee to drink now, I don't think it's really set in." 2179

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego State University students are being warned to look out for a man who fondled a woman on campus this week.An unknown man approached a woman near the campus's music building as she was walking to Campanile Walk Thursday just before 9 p.m., according to SDSU campus police.Police said the man told the woman how pretty she was and tried to hug her. The woman tried to walk away twice and the man tried to hug her twice. police said.The man the groped the woman's buttocks. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego-based U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a sex offender and stopped smuggling at sea over the holiday weekend, Customs and Border Patrol officials announced Thursday. Agents spotted a man in East San Diego County about six miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border at 12:30 a.m. on July 6. The 53-year-old Honduran national did not have any documents verifying his residency, officials said. Agents took the unidentified Honduran man to a station for processing. They discovered he had been convicted of sexually assaulting a child and sentenced to prison in New Hampshire in 2008, according to the CBP. The man will be processed for illegal re-entry after removal, officials said. A U.S. Coast Guard cutter made the second significant arrest of the holiday weekend, officials said. The crew intercepted a boat off Point Loma the evening of July 7. Although it appeared to have one person on board, Coast Guard crew members found an additional 12 people suspected of trying to enter the U.S. illegally, officials reported. The group taken into custody included nine men and two women from Mexico, and a Salvadoran man and woman. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police say they received a call regarding a goat on the loose in the tailgate lot near Petco Park on Sunday.SDPD said a goat was apparently running around the lot sometime before 2 p.m., before the owner of the animal had retrieved the goat and left the area before officers arrived."Officers are responding to reports of a goat running around the area of tailgate lot in downtown. The latest is the owner has the goat and is walking him back to his vehicle saying he was a BAAAAAAAD goat. The owner and his goat left the area prior to police arrival," the department tweeted.The department said a couple of hours later that officers later found the man and his goat elsewhere downtown and learned the goat's name: "Tom Brady." 764
