SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman died and her son was hospitalized after a shooting at a Linda Vista home early Monday morning.According to San Diego police, officers were called to the 2200 block of Crandall Drive at around 3:15 a.m. in response to a report of gunfire in a home.Officers arrived to find a male and female down with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies.The victims were taken to the hospital, but the woman -- identified by police as a 46-year-old Vietnamese female -- died from her injuries.The injured man -- described by police as a 28-year-old Vietnamese male -- is on life support, but police noted that he is not expected to survive his injuries.Police said they were not actively searching for a suspect, as they believe one of the victims was the shooter. 783
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An unresponsive man was pulled to shore Wednesday after possibly being swept out to sea by strong waves along Ocean Beach's coast.San Diego Fire-Rescue lifeguards responded to reports of the man not breathing at about 2 p.m. at Dog Beach. Lifeguards on jet skis found the man lodged into the rocks on the jetty, according to SDFD Sgt. Bruce Jamieson. He had reportedly been swept about 75 yards from shore, according to SDFD.Lifeguards performed CPR and rushed the man to a nearby hospital, but did not give an update on his condition.Witnesses said the man, who is approximately 50-years-old and from Nevada, may have been chasing after his dog in the water when he was pulled out to sea.A high surf advisory was issued for San Diego County's coastline from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday, bringing large sets and the threat of rip currents to the area's shores. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Seattle man injured in an ATV accident in Mexico has died in a San Diego hospital, according to his family.Chad Carrico was on a cruise October 10 when he chose to leave the ship for a day trip in Ensenada.Carrico and friends rented ATV’s, according to his mother Theresa. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A sea of purple covered Mission Bay Park as thousands showed up to ride, run and walk for epilepsy awareness.The event is Sharon's Ride, Run, Walk. Sharon’s Ride was started by Dr. William Rosenfeld honor Dr. Rosenfeld’s sister, Sharon, who was killed in a bicycle accident while bicycling cross country. She was also a nurse and teacher who cared deeply about epilepsy. Dr. Rosenfeld is the chairman of the event nationwide. Participants could choose from a 15-mile bike ride or a 5k run or walk around Mission Bay. The money raised benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County. 678
