(AP) — A gunman opened fire inside a Southern California Costco during an argument Friday night, killing a man, wounding two other people and sparking a stampede of terrified shoppers before he was taken into custody, police said.Police swarmed the Costco after shots were reported at the huge store about 50 miles (80.5 kilometers) southeast of downtown Los Angeles.Witnesses told KCAL-TV that a man with a Mohawk haircut was arguing with someone near a freezer section when he pulled a gun and fired at least six shots.The man involved in the argument was killed and two other people were wounded, Corona police Lt. Police said the name of the deceased won't be released until the Riverside County coroner notifies family.Shoppers and employees described terror and chaos as the shots rang out.Christina Colis told the Riverside Press-Enterprise that she was in the produce area when she heard six to seven shots and hid with other shoppers in a refrigerated produce room. She said her mother saw people injured on the floor.Will Lungo, 45, of Corona, said he and his wife were near the produce and alcohol sections when he heard gunshots."I thought maybe someone dropped a bottle of wine, but then I kept hearing shots," Lungo told the Press-Enterprise. "An employee came in and helped us out through the emergency exit."Witnesses told KCAL-TV that shoppers and employees rushed to the exits. (KGTV) -- A man's peaceful visit to Coronado's Dog Beach turned into one of major concern when he saw boat debris lining the shore.Todd Tremelling feared the dogs and marine life would eat the materials. Tremelling was at Dog Beach over the weekend when he saw a boat stuck along the fence that separates the public part of the beach from Naval Air Station North Island.The boat is one of about a dozen abandoned boats that have washed ashore due to storms. On Saturday, he saw a crew from the base removing the boat with a backhoe."They were using the bucket to beat it into a million pieces, or probably 10 million," said Tremelling, who regularly takes his two dogs to the beach. When he returned on Sunday, he saw the shoreline was lined with boat debris, including wood paneling, fiber glass, and foam that lined the hull. Tremelling filled a bucket with the debris before an animal could eat it. "They need to do a better job," said Tremelling, of the removal. Sandy Duchac, a spokeswoman for Naval Air Station North Island, said crews follow strict procedures when removing the boats. "At the end of the day we do everything we can to remove the debris from the boats that people allow to come ashore," she said. "There's very little we can do about teh debris that ends up on the Coronado side."Duchac said the Navy has removed about a dozen boats that washed ashore after storms in the last year. It's almost impossible to identify the owners because the boats are often abandoned and the ownership information has been removed.It costs taxpayers about ,000 to remove each boat.  1646

Colin Kroll, co-founder and CEO of the hit gaming app HQ Trivia, was found dead Sunday morning in New York."We learned today of the passing of our friend and founder, Colin Kroll, and it's with deep sadness that we say goodbye," a spokesperson for HQ said in an emailed statement. "Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."A law enforcement official told CNN that police found Kroll in the bedroom of his New York apartment unconscious and unresponsive after Kroll's girlfriend called the New York Police Department asking for a wellness check.Kroll became a big name in the tech world after co-founding Vine, the now-defunct looping video platform that launched the careers of numerous social media stars.Twitter (TWTR) bought Vine in 2012 and shuttered the platform four years later.In 2017, Kroll and business partner Rus Yusupov went on to form Intermedia Labs, the company behind HQ Trivia.
