SAN DIEGO — Home construction in the city of San Diego increased in 2019, but is still far off pace to meet the region's high demand for housing.The findings come in a report released Tuesday by the city's planning department.It shows that in 2019 the city issued 5,221 permits for new housing units, up from 3,895 the year before. Still, that's way off pace for any sort of building activity that could help lower the cost of housing. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 38-year-old man was stabbed Wednesday morning after confronting a man he saw attempting to break into cars in a Rancho Bernardo parking lot, police said.It happened shortly before 2:10 a.m. near the intersection of Fairlie Road and Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.The 38-year-old man saw a man trying door handles of cars in a parking lot in the area and confronted him, Heims said.They got into an argument before the suspect ran away and the victim chased him, the officer said.The victim caught up to the man and they got into a fight, during which the victim was stabbed at least once, Heims said, adding that the man was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.After the fight, the assailant was last seen running southbound on Bernardo Center Drive.The suspect was described as a 5-foot-10 white man who weighs between 140 and 160 pounds. It was the only way to survive - because Koll exhausted all of his Paycheck Protection Program funds that got him through the first shutdown."Closed again is something physically, financially and mentally something I can't do, and I won't do, so I will be like a chameleon and adapt to anything that this governor throws my way," Koll said. The gym moved the equipment on the sidewalk and also has an interior outdoor space to utilize. "I think it's just businesses being creative and saying - 'You know what? We can't afford another shutdown for two, three, four months,'" she said.
