 ESPN The Magazine is celebrating its 20th anniversary by releasing lists of the best teams and athletes of the last 20 years. Needless to say, there isn't a lot of San Diego on the list -- with the exception of a No. 4 ranking for NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson on the "Most Dominant Athletes" list. As it happens, my career in San Diego sports media began in 1998, so I thought I'd take it upon myself to come up with a list of the best San Diego teams of the past 20 years. Unlike ESPN, which came up with complicated metrics to determine their lists, mine is completely subjective. (AP) — Pacific Gas & Electric confessed Tuesday to killing 84 people in a devastating Northern California wildfire. The dramatic court hearing was also punctuated by a promise from the company's outgoing CEO that nation's largest utility will never again put profits ahead of safety. PG&E CEO Bill Johnson appeared on the company's behalf in Butte County Superior Court to plead guilty to 84 felony counts of involuntary manslaughter. They stem from a November 2018 wildfire ignited by the utility’s crumbling electrical grid. In total, the Camp Fire burned through 153,336 acres and almost completely destroyed the town of Paradise.Johnson solemnly looked at photos those who died while acknowledging the company's responsibility for the fire. 760

 President Donald Trump's attorney Jay Sekulow announced Sunday that Joseph diGenova and Victoria Toensing will not join Trump's legal team for the Russia probe."The President is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the President's Special Counsel legal team. However, those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the President in other legal matters. The President looks forward to working with them," Sekulow said in a statement.The announcement on Sunday came as Trump insisted on Twitter he was not having a hard time assembling a legal team for the Russia probe, and after CNN reported on Friday that diGenova and Toensing's roles in the legal team were still in question.Two sources previously told CNN that there was concern about diGenova and Toensing's conflicts. The pair make up a husband-and-wife legal team, and two sources noted that Toensing represents clients who are connected to the special counsel probe led by former FBI Director Robert Mueller.Sekulow announced last Monday?that diGenova would be joining the legal team, and sources told CNN that both diGenova and Toensing met with Trump on Thursday. That same day, Trump's lead lawyer, John Dowd, resigned from Trump's personal legal team in the Russia investigation.The possibility of diGenova's hire attracted widespread attention to the legal figure's brash comments about the Russia investigation, including the assertion that Trump had been "framed" by FBI and Justice Department officials. 1559

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several homes were evacuated and a bomb squad called to the scene after hundreds of rounds of ammo were discovered inside a Mira Mesa home Wednesday night. Authorities were called to the home on Avenida Del Gato and Valdosta Ave between 4 and 5 p.m. According to San Diego Police, a man was cleaning his deceased relative’s home when he found the ammo. Also discovered inside the home were mortar rounds and rocket rounds. Military ordnance experts, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were all called to the home. So far, authorities say they’re about 75 percent through the investigation. All the items discovered inside the home are so far inert, Jeff Ring, Commander of the Bomb Squad told 10News. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department says six nearby homes had to be evacuated. A total of 14 adults and one child who live nearby had to leave. At this time, it’s unclear when residents will be allowed to return. 975

(CNN) -- A farmer in Nebraska was just trying to transfer some corn from one place to another when he accidentally stepped into a hole, the hole happened to be a grain auger.Kurtis Kaser, 63, knew he had to act quick as his leg was getting pulled into the machine."I didn't know what to do and I didn't know how long I would keep my consciousness either, I about gave up but then I remembered I had my pocket knife," Kaser told CNN.Kaser was at the farm by himself in Pender, located near the Iowa border, about three and a half weeks ago, when he had to make the split decision to cut off his leg."I didn't have a phone on me, I didn't know where it had gone, so I just started cutting with the knife," he said. "I knew I was done cutting because I felt a funny feeling, maybe it was a tendon I cut."The farmer said shortly after, he proceeded to crawl towards his house using his elbows so he could reach a phone to call for help."I stopped for a little bit but I didn't want to stop for long in case I passed out, there was no way for me to get help, everyone was gone at the time, I just did what I had to do and they (first responders) got me in a helicopter," he said.He was rushed to Bryan Medical Center and stayed there for about a week before transferring to Madonna Rehabilitation Center, where he underwent physical therapy."I was 45 minutes away from home when this happened, they were flying him away as I was arriving and I didn't get to see how he was doing before that," his wife, Lori, told CNN. "I am just glad he's here with us."This isn't the first time Kaser has had a scare like this on the farm."These accidents happen all the time, when I was a sixth grader my other leg got stuck in a tractor, only my skin suffered that time," he said. "We're kind of used to this around here."Kaser said he doesn't remember how long the whole ordeal lasted but when he returned home from the rehabilitation hospital on Friday, he was shocked to realize how far he had crawled."Everyone asks me why I am so calm about the situation and the truth is, when I was in Madonna (the rehabilitation hospital), I saw so many people who will probably never be able to walk again and I know I will be able to walk mildly normal, I'm fortunate."His wife said they are now adjusting to the new lifestyle and within time they know everything will be back to normal. Once his leg is finished healing, he'll be fitted for a prosthetic and Kaser told CNN affiliate KETV that he'll be back to farming in no time. 2513
