A man’s love for man’s best friend is a powerful force. Kaleb Benham from Grass Valley took on a 350 pound bear that was attacking his rescue dog, “Buddy.” Kaleb said he heard a growl the saw the bear dragging buddy “by his head.” So he tackled the bear and punched it pic.twitter.com/XAhTrS2AEC— Anna Giles (@AnnaGilesTV) December 4, 2020 347

A UPS driver in Clackamas County, Oregon called his wife who then called 911 after he heard cries of "help" coming from inside a residence while the driver was on his route. It turns out that the UPS driver was tricked by a parrot. The incident took place Monday evening, according to the Oregonian. The Oregonian reported that the UPS driver became distressed over what sounded like a human's cry for help. He then called his wife, who then called 911, alerting authorities to the screams. Deputy Hayden Sanders responded to the scene, expecting it to be tense. But thankfully, within minutes, Sanders had a reason to laugh. Sanders confirmed that Diego the parrot was behind the screams. After concluding that everyone, including Diego, was safe, Sanders posed for a photo with the mischievous parrot. The photo was then posted on the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.  929

A more than 4,000-year-old private tomb containing "exceptionally well-preserved" drawings has been discovered south of Cairo, according to Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities.Antiquities Minister Khaled al-Anani said the tomb had been discovered at the Saqqara archaeological site and was from the 5th dynasty of the pharaohs, which ruled roughly 4,400 years ago.The tomb belonged to a royal purification priest known as "Wahtye," al-Anani said in a statement. Inscriptions suggested the priest had served during the reign of King Nefer-Ir-Ka-Re and was the king's supervisor and inspector of the holy boat.Al-Anani said the tomb's walls were decorated with colored scenes depicting Wahtye with his mother, wife and family. The head of the excavation mission, Mostafa Waziri, said other drawings showed wine and pottery making, musical performances, sailing, hunting and the manufacture of funeral furniture.Waziri said his team had reached the tomb in November but that it had taken some time to enter as its doors were sealed. Some 50 niches inside the bomb also contained colored statues carved in rock, including of a person standing or in the scribe position, Waziri said."This statue might belong to the deceased or a member of his family," he said. The general director of the site, Sabry Farag, said the tomb was about 10 meters (33 feet) long and 3 meters (10 feet) wide, with a basement. It also contained five burial shafts, Waziri said, which will be the subject of further excavations. In November, the Antiquities Ministry announced that a mass cat cemetery and a collection of rare mummified scarab beetles were among seven tombs discovered at Saqqara.Saqqara is also home to the famous Step Pyramid. 1715

A Tennessee woman was behind a security threat that placed the White House on lockdown. The vehicle that rammed the security gate Friday afternoon is registered to Jessica R. Ford, a woman who has had run-ins with Secret Service in the past. The car also had Rutherford County tags. The incident report says Ford intentionally hit the fixed security barrier with her car while holding a gun in her hand behind the wheel.According to the report, Ford hit the gate, and continued to accelerate, while an officer demanded she put the gun down multiple times. Witnesses reported seeing smoke from her vehicle's tires. When she did not comply,  the officer removed the gun from hand before she was pulled from behind the steering wheel.Once they pulled her out of the driver's side window, they handcuffed her and searched the vehicle. The White House was placed on lockdown for about an hour during the investigation. The Secret Service confirmed no shots were fired during the incident, and no law enforcement personnel were injured.President Trump was inside the White House at the time, hosting Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. Turnbull remained at the White House as the incident was being investigated. The incident wasn't Ford's first run-in with secret service. According to reports, Ford tried to get past security and scale a fence at the White House in April, May and July of 2017.  She was arrested and charged with unlawful entry and ordered to stay away from the White House grounds.Ford has a lengthy criminal history in Tennessee as well. In 2003, she was charged with DUI and prescription fraud. From 2004 to 2006 she was charged with multiple counts of violation of probation and resisting arrest. In 2011,  in Nashville she was charged with criminal trespassing. The Secret Services said Ford is now facing multiple charges in connection to Friday's incident including Unlawful Entry, Carrying a Pistol without a License, and Destruction of Government Property.Learn more about Friday's incident here. 2113

A trip to Detroit has landed a Texas couple in hot water with the law. The couple, John Guerrero and Virginia Yearnd, traveled to Detroit to attend a concert. They are facing charges child endangerment charges for allegedly leaving their 11-year-old daughter at home alone while they were in Michigan.Police say it took them hours to get ahold of the parents, and by the time they called back, they said they were in Louisiana. It appears that the couple expected the mother's sister to be checking on the girl, but investigators say that didn't happen. One of their neighbors, who did not want to be identified, said after living next door for more than a year, she didn't think of the couple as bad parents."I know them as good parents, very hardworking," she said. "He travels and his job is to set up concerts. I'm sure he was working and not just going to a rock concert."Part of the problem for investigators was that there were no notes or contact information for the sister who was allegedly supposed to be looking after the daughter.Right now, the 11-year-old is staying with a neighbor while the parents sort out legal troubles.Texas law states that child endangerment occurs when a person intentionally engages in conduct that places a child younger than 15 in danger 1294
