SAN DIEGO — The driver of the McLaren sports car involved in a fiery fatal crash on Interstate 805 Thursday has been identified.Trevor Heitmann, 18, was behind the wheel of the 2014 sports car that collided with an SUV, killing himself, and a 43-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.The mother and daughter have yet to be identified. The medical examiner is using an alternative means to identify the bodies because of how badly they were burned, according to the California Highway Patrol.Heitmann was traveling at a high rate of speed heading southbound in a northbound HOV lane at about 4:30 p.m. near La Jolla Village Dr. before the collision, CHP said. Troopers believe he entered via an HOV lane access at Carol Canyon Rd.The two vehicles collided and exploded into flames, witnesses said, causing a chain reaction of crashes with at least five other vehicles.Heitmann was killed of blunt force trauma and pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner reported.The two occupants of the SUV died due to the fire which engulfed the vehicle after the crash, the report said.It's still not clear why Heitmann was traveling at such a high rate of speed in the wrong direction. According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, his driving record was clear.CHP said Heitmann's vehicle was linked to an incident at Ashley Falls Elementary School in Carmel Valley before the crash, in which several students said the driver of a sports car drove through a fence. Tuesday afternoon, 10News took video of Flagship Cruises & Events taking passengers aboard for bay tours even after the company was cited by San Diego Harbor Police over the holiday weekend for violating the County's health order 14C which bans recreational boating unless all the passengers are from the same household. Tuesday, a company spokesperson sent the following statement to 10News.“We are part of the Passenger Vessel Association, not recreational boating. They are classifying us under a charter business which is still banned. We DO have a charter business but are not operating any charters at this time. Only public tours and maintaining all safety guidelines set by the city & CDC. We didn’t receive a cease & desist, and will continue to operate our harbor tours & patriot jet boat this week. We open up our dining cruises starting this Friday with Hops on the Harbor – pairing with local brewery, Pizza Port.”Monday night, the company told 10News it's part 14E of the County health order, not 14C. That section states in part, "other public or private outdoor recreational facilities (other than community pools per State order), including recreational equipment (such as bicycle, boat, kayak, equestrian and surfboard) rentals may be open for limited use."During Tuesday’s County press conference, Supervisor Nathan Fletcher told 10News, “The rental items that they're alluding [are for] individual use type things like a bicycle or a kayak or a surfboard and so they are not covered under the current public health order,” and added, “If they continue to operate, they are going to continue to be cited.”Harbor Police say the citation comes with a fine of up to ,000 and up to a year in jail. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Witnesses are coming forward to share what they saw just moments after the fiery crash involving a green Lamborghini Sunday morning.Max Afifi, a taxi driver, was working nearby when he saw the commotion. Afifi took several pictures of the green Lamborghini completely engulfed in flames. He says firefighters were rushing to put out the fire. The San Diego County Medical Examiner identified the driver of the car as 33-year-old Michael Llamas, a medical marijuana entrepreneur.SLIDESHOW: Lamborghini crashes downtownAccording to Llamas' LinkedIn page, he helped found the company Medical Marijuana, Inc. They sent 10News the following statement about their former CEO:“The company has learned that Michael Llamas died in a traffic accident over the weekend in San Diego. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — California fire authorities say Pacific Gas & Electric Co. power lines sparked the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in state history.Cal Fire said Wednesday the lines in the Pulga area ignited the Nov. 8 fire that killed 85 people in Paradise.The investigation also identified a second nearby ignition site involving vegetation and electrical distribution lines, also owned and operated by the San Francisco-based utility.The second fire was quickly consumed by the initial fire.Lynsey Paulo, a spokeswoman for PG&E, did not immediately comment.The fire in Butte County destroyed nearly 15,000 homes.The nation's largest utility filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January as it faced tens of billions of dollars in potential liability costs related to wildfires in 2017 and 2018. 823

SAN DIEO (KGTV) - Parole agents checked on child sex offenders Thursday night to ensure they were in compliance, as part of the 26th Annual Operation Boo.10News rode along with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Agents who went knocking on 7 doors Halloween night."The gates were closed, the lights were turned off, they kind of know what is expected of them," Parole Agent Matthew Holmes said.Some of the stops took us to National City, City Heights, even a marina where a house boat was docked."Most of the time they're compliant, occasionally somebody has to go back to jail, but we just try to hold them accountable for their conditions," Holmes said.That means no alcohol, drugs, weapons, or pornography.Thursday night everyone checked out.One parolee told 10News he's excited to take the next step after his release, "I feel fantastic, the program is great, State Parole is great. It's definitely worth it. I think all this tax payers expense, they're getting their money's worth, I'll tell you that."Operation Boo is just a small part of agents' role of checking in on parolees.
