CASEY COUNTY, Kent. -- A man in Kentucky not only pulled over but got out of his vehicle to pay his respects while a funeral procession passed. The family was moved by the man's kindness and posted about it on social media and has since gone viral.Cecil Luster was a member of the U.S. Navy. His family celebrated his life yesterday in Casey County. Many drivers pulled over for the procession, led by the Patriot Guard of Kentucky. Cecil's grandson, Drew Richardson, says there was one driver, who was standing outside of his vehicle, who caught his family's attention."When my mom was talking about it afterward, there were tears welling up in her eyes, that someone actually showed respect for our family," Drew Richardson said.Standing with his hands crossed, it was a simple act of kindness that moved the entire family.Mark Meece says he didn't even think twice about getting out of his vehicle and he got the idea from a social media post."I've seen on Facebook where a soldier was standing outside in the rain, and I thought, you know, I need to start doing that to show respect. It was an inspiration to me," Meece said.The family shared the good deed on Facebook and it's been shared and commented on hundreds of times. Meece says the positivity of the social media post has encouraged him. CHERRY VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) -- The Apple Fire in Riverside County has almost doubled in the last day. As of 5:00 p.m. Sunday, it has grown to 20,516 acres, with 0% containment. Mandatory evacuations are in place for more than 7,000 people. Authorities believe this may have been caused by arson.This weekend, multiple San Diego fire agencies are helping fight the Apple Fire. Experts say our local agencies are equipped to support the fight in Riverside and any incidents at home.The conditions are almost too perfect for the raging Apple Fire."Fuel, weather, and topography - All three of those things come together in that part of the state," CAL FIRE San Diego Fire Captain, Issac Sanchez said.The Apple Fire is burning just north of the city of Beaumont in Riverside County. Sanchez says the flames are relentless, and crews on the ground need all the help they can get."Any agency, regardless of their size, cannot handle anything of this nature, in size and complexity," Sanchez said.Overnight, the fire erupted into the San Bernadino National Forest, which officially made it a federal incident. But multiple local crews from San Diego County are now at ground zero to help."It's not just a CAL FIRE show. It's not just a US Forest Service show," Sanchez said. "Everybody is on deck. Everybody is contributing. Everybody is engaged right now."Some of the local crews assisting in Riverside County include San Diego Fire-Rescue, Poway Fire Department, Coronado Fire Department, and the North County Fire District.Early Sunday afternoon, maintenance crews were doing final checks for CAL FIRE San Diego's air fleet, stationed at the Ramona Airport. (AP) — The National Park Service says scientists are trying to determine the cause of death of an endangered whale calf that was found stranded on a beach on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.The young whale is considered to be “one of the rarest marine mammals” on earth, according to NPS.Biologists performed a necropsy on the North Atlantic right whale calf and took DNA samples Saturday.NPS at Cape Lookout National Seashore posted news of the whale’s death on its Facebook page.Right whales are critically endangered. Most people had to wait until they were morbidly obese in order to be eligible for treatment so we decided to invent a product that would fit the middle ground," said Brister, who is the Chief Technology Officer at Obalon Therapeutics.Obalon is the only FDA approved swallowable gas-filled balloon for people roughly 30 to 100 pounds overweight.
