Allergan has recalled almost 170,000 sample packs of birth control pills because of a packaging error that could put consumers at risk for unintended pregnancy.According to the recall, four placebo capsules were placed out of order in a sample pack of Taytulla and the first four days of therapy had four non-hormonal placebo capsules instead of active capsules."As a result of this packaging error, oral contraceptive capsules, that are taken out of sequence, may place the user at risk for contraceptive failure and unintended pregnancy," The recall states. "The reversing of the order may not be apparent to either new users or previous users of the product, increasing the likelihood of taking the capsules out of order."Allergan says they are notifying customers by recall letter and is arranging for return of all recalled sample pack product with the lot #5620706 Exp. A Waterford mother went through what she calls "the scariest 10 minutes of her life" while visiting her grandmother last weekendLacey Guyton was leaving her grandmother's when she put her 2-month-old daughter in the car. She says she put her daughter in her car seat, and the diaper bag in the back seat and shut the car door — only to discover that the door had locked.She immediately called 911 and was surprised by what the dispatcher told her — that 911 does not dispatch emergency services to unlock cars or break windows.Guyton said the dispatcher then offered to connect her to a tow company but knew she needed to get inside the car immediately to save her baby."I saw her start to close her eyes and I just ran to the back window and smashed it open," she said.Guyton says Waterford police contacted her to apologize about what happened, but she wants to set the record straight. "They never had the chance to respond. Nobody told them. They didn’t know, and had they known I feel they would have definitely come out," Guyton said.She says she was just overwhelmed by the amount of support she’s received from everyone following the incident. "There’s been so many people reaching out to me, hundreds of people telling me their stories, thanking me for putting this out there," Guyton said.Mother and daughter are now both doing well. 1391

A week after a 13-year-old girl vanished, a local sheriff is seeking a cadre of volunteers that's equivalent to two-thirds of the population of the small Wisconsin city near the teenager's home.Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald on Monday asked for 2,000 volunteers to help authorities in an expanded routine search of the area around the crime scene Tuesday for possible evidence in the investigation into Jayme Closs' disappearance. The teenager vanished early October 15 and her parents were found fatally shot in their home near the city of Barron in northwestern Wisconsin. Barron, a city of less 3 square miles, has a population of about 3,300, according to US Census figures.Monday's call for volunteers is 10 times the number of volunteers the sheriff sought last week. After dozens of puppies were found in rural Pottawattamie County, Iowa with no food and water before being rescued Sunday, authorities ramped up their investigation into Young Gunz Kennel.They obtained a search warrant and confiscated items for several hours Tuesday.Sheriff deputies and animal control personnel hauled away a large number of kennels that were at the unlicensed facility, which was used for obedience and hunting training, as well as dog breeding. Investigators could also be seen snapping photos and collecting additional evidence that they could find at the site, which housed as many as 50 dogs before many of them were found inside their kennels severely malnourished. A total of four dogs have now been found dead, and 10 are missing.Copper was one of the dogs that was rescued on Sunday. When his owner Wil Beach picked him up, Copper had lost 20 pounds and was covered in feces. "He was very scared but still in high spirits, he was the same dog emotionally when I got him (back) than when I dropped him off,” says Beach.Beach says he took Copper and a 0 check to owner Dustin Young in January after high praises from friends. He says he did not suspect anything amiss when he made the drop-off. "When I was there it was neat and clean and organized and he was very talkative and he just seemed like he had a passion for dogs," says Beach.Beach is thankful that his two-year old pup is okay, with no major issues from the abandonment.  1500
