LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A Louisville police officer involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor has filed a civil lawsuit against the 26-year-old’s boyfriend, according to multiple reports.The Courier Journal and CBS News report that Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly is suing Kenneth Walker, claiming emotional distress, assault and battery.Authorities say Mattingly was shot by Walker when he and other officers served a no-knock warrant at the couple’s apartment in the early morning hours of March 13. The warrant was part of a narcotics investigation, though no drugs were found in the home.Police have said the officers knocked before entering the home, but Walker claimed he thought they may be intruders. When the officers knocked down the door, both parties fired shots and that’s when Taylor was mortally wounded, dying in her hallway.Along with Mattingly, police say Det. Myles Cosgrove and former Det. Brett Hankison also fired shots into the apartment in response to Walker. In all, the officers fired about 32 rounds, striking Taylor six times.During the exchange, Mattingly was also injured, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.Mattingly’s lawsuit reportedly claim’s Walker’s conduct the night of the shooting was “outrageous, intolerable, and offends all accepted standards of decency and morality.” He’s seeking a jury trial, damages and attorney fees, reports say.In his lawsuit, Mattingly reportedly claims Walker intentionally shot him or acted recklessly in firing his pistol in the direction of the officers.The Courier Journal says the complaint is a countersuit in response to a lawsuit brought on by Walker against several Louisville officers, the mayor, the Kentucky attorney general and others. In that suit, Walker seeks immunity and cites the state’s “stand your ground” law.None of the officers involved in the case are being charged for Taylor's death. She was recently found wandering with about 4-years of growth needing to be sheared off.The abandoned sheep was found in a heavily wooded area in southeast Australia, roaming on a property with no nearby flock or owner. A person spotted the sheep, burdened with the extra large fleece, and reported it to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or RSPCA.The RSPCA estimates the sheep, who they named Ewenice, had not been trimmed in about four years.Ewenice was checked over, given a haircut, and sent to a new home. About 44 pounds of wool was sheared off.“Carrying such a large fleece for an extended period of time would have had dire impact on this ewe’s welfare and quality of life. It was fantastic to see her transformation after shearing and to send her on to her new home,” said Head of Inspectorate Terry Ness.Fleece must be shorn regularly because sheep are unable to shed. 1057

(KGTV) — A man police say was captured on video taunting a bison at Yellowstone National Park this week has been arrested.Glacier National Park rangers arrested 55-year-old Raymond Reinke, of Pendleton, Ore., Thursday just after 10:30 p.m.In the video, a man is seen Tuesday in the middle of traffic approaching the bison. He begins the taunt the animal, which becomes visibly agitated and charges the man multiple times.After the footage was shared out, Yellowstone Superintendent Dan Wenk called the man's behavior, "reckless, dangerous, and illegal," on Facebook, adding those who ignore rules for distancing themselves from wildlife risk their lives and threaten the park.Yellowstone requires visitors to keep at least 25 yards from animals like bison and elk, and 100 yards from bears and wolves.Tuesday's incident wasn't Reinke's first recent run-in with law enforcement either, according to police. He had reportedly been visiting multiple national parks over the last week.On July 28, he was arrested by law enforcement at Grand Teton National Park for drunk and disorderly conduct.He then traveled to Yellowstone, where his vehicle was stopped by rangers on July 31. He was cited as a passenger for failure to wear a seat belt, after rangers said he appeared drunk and argumentative, the park said.It's after this incident the park said they believed Reinke encountered the bison.Rangers investigating the video believed Reinke to be behind the incident and had his bond revoked and an arrest warrant issued.Rangers began searching for his vehicle, and he was located at Glacier National Park. Rangers there had received a call of two hotel guests creating a disturbance and identified one of the guests as Reinke.He was booked into Yellowstone Jail to await a scheduled court appearance Friday. 1842
