SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- North County leaders, including city mayors and Supervisor Jim Desmond, joined Legoland officials Friday morning in a press conference demanding answers from the state as to when and how they can reopen.They said a letter was sent last week to Gov. Gavin Newsom requesting that the state implement protocols to abide by to reopen, similar to what they established with schools.Legoland's park is mainly outdoors and has been closed since March. Their hotel opened in July and hotel guests can access the main promenade but the park wants to open its doors to the public. The park's president, Kurt Stocks, said Legoland has implemented safety guidelines for the attraction to operate outdoors with sanitizer stations, distance markers and temperature checks upon entering. Stocks said he and city leaders believe the state needs to implement guidelines for all businesses across San Diego county, indoor and outdoor, so employees who were furloughed or laid off can get back to work. At Friday's press conference, leaders also stated they constantly receive calls from residents with questions as to when they can open their businesses back up and hope to provide them with answers sooner than later. "We've heard very little and I recognize the state has to make decisions for businesses across California. but what we're doing today is calling on the state to recognize that San Diego attractions are safe to open." 1445

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a woman was found dead in Tecolote Canyon Park Saturday. According to San Diego Police, the woman’s body was found Saturday at an unspecified time near a hiking trail in Tecolote Canyon Park. Police believe the woman was in her mid to late 20s. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — North Park residents will celebrate this holiday season with an annual tradition intact — at least for one more year.For 56 years, the Toyland Parade has delighted crowds in North Park during the holiday season. But much like a parade balloon, financial troubles have loomed over organizers.Last year, the parade was briefly canceled after former-host Victoria House Corporation said it had lost support from sponsors. Angela Landsberg, executive director with North Park Main Street, says support from the local Lions Club has saved 2019's parade, but 2020 is a different story."Our presenting sponsor North Park Lions Club have ensured that it's going to go off this year, but if we don't raise enough money this year to get us carried through our planning for next year, because these things take a long time to plan, then this will be the final year," Landsberg told 10News. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More San Diego college students will be moving back to campus this weekend, as San Diego State grapples with trying to reduce its cases more than three weeks after its fall semester began.When SDSU started moving students back onto campus at the end of August, COVID-19 testing wasn't mandatory.
