Women are using Facebook and online merchandise venues to sell well-known cosmetic brands at discount prices, but buyers beware of the bargains.Brittanie Masters, an Arizona mom who's making extra cash by selling makeup online, says she started several months ago and she's made up to 0 in one day by auctioning foundation in a Facebook group. "So I was selling them anywhere from to apiece, but a lot of ladies on the Facebook page are selling for a lot more," Masters said. "Brand new I think they’re ."Masters said women are attracted to the black market to get good deals, but they also risk getting swindled. She explains the products being sold can be counterfeit, previously used, or even pulled from a beauty store's dumpster. So how is it getting from the trash to online marketplaces? Some women are dumpster diving for makeup either for personal use or to sell online."It’s not as crazy to me anymore because people will sell the stuff and make a lot of money, and if something's discontinued they could jack up the price twice the amount of retail for a tester that’s half-full," Masters said.Masters said the best way to check for fake products is to compare with something you purchased from a respected retailer. She recommends looking at the label for misspellings, double-checking product size, and using your nose. Sometimes fake makeup smells like chemicals or cleaning products. 1424

At the corner of Peabody Drive and Hardy Cash Drive in Hampton, Virginia you'll find a group of determined kids."We are raising money for single mothers that are struggling. They have to do so much on their own," said 11-year-old Cartier Carey.Cartier is the leader of the "Carti Pack" and CEO of his lemonade stand, one unlike any other."We sell lemonade, chips, candy - all types of stuff that people want, and it's not expensive," he said.Each dollar spent towards a cup of the summertime drink and goodies on the side goes towards buying diapers for local families in need."The diapers are for mothers or anyone that has babies," Cartier said.It's an unusual business model, but one that's working."There's a shortage of Pampers and wipes in the stores because of the pandemic, so this couldn't have come at a better time," said Anthony Carey, Cartier's dad.A rising sixth-grader like Cartier and his friends could be out playing sports or riding bikes, but instead, they're helping single mothers in the community."There are a lot of grown-ups out there not doing what we're doing," Cartier said."As a parent, it makes me feel spectacular," Anthony said.This lemonade stand isn't a first for Cartier. He started the non-profit Kids 4 Change 757 about a year ago."Not only are they helping older adults, but [they're also] helping children see they can make a change inside of their community," Anthony said.So far this week, Cartier and his friends have raised ,200, most of which is going to buy the diapers."I'm shocked," Cartier said.Cartier and his friends will be out in Hampton at the corner of Peabody Drive and Hardy Cash Drive through Friday.WTKR's Chelsea Donovan first reported this story. 1763

 A longtime program focused on feeding the homeless at Mary Star of the Sea Church in La Jolla has been cancelled because of concerns about Hepatitis A. The founder of "So Others May Eat", Tresha Souza, tells 10 News the pastor of the church informed her at the end of October that she would no longer be able to serve people at their facility, citing concerns about the recent Hep A outbreak. The Catholic Diocese issued the following statement: “We’re sorry for any misunderstandings that have arisen regarding the ‘So Others May Eat’ dinners that used to take place at Mary Star of the Sea.  A major renovation forced us to close our parish hall for the past several months and we have had to redirect where and how we do our part to serve the less fortunate in our parish.   We have not and will never turn our backs on the poor.  As a parish, we will respond to the needs of our community; we will overcome the challenges posed by the Hepatitis outbreak and we will continue to provide assistance to the homeless people and families who need our help and our prayers.”  1122

Throughout the filming of the pilot, I experienced Racial Discrimination/Racially Charged inappropriate comments from the hair department and bullying from Executive Producers. During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party.The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. The Hair Dept. Head was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that the actor would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. This actor reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the actor had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. Now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my Voice. Strength comes from within.
