A "very bizarre" car crash in Canada resulted in the arrests of five people who were found naked after the collision. On Monday, officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were called to the scene of a crash involving a car and pickup truck in Nisku, Alberta, according to CBC News.At the scene, officers arrested three adults and two "youths." All five were naked when police caught them, according to the Edmonton Journal. The crash apparently happened after police said the suspects kidnapped three people — a man, a woman and an infant — from a home and forced them into the car. The man, who was apparently locked in the car's trunk, managed to escape the moving vehicle and flag down a man driving a pickup truck.CBC reported that the passerby managed to get all three kidnapping victims into his truck and was driving them away when he was rammed by the suspects, which forced his truck into a ditch.None of the victims were injured in the ordeal. The kidnapping suspects have not been named and it's unclear why they were naked at the scene of the crash. A Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigator described the incident as "very bizarre" to The Guardian. The two underage suspects were released without charges. The three unidentified adult suspects will face charges for kidnapping and resisting arrest, according to the Edmonton Journal. The kidnapping victims and suspects apparently know each other, police told CBC.Clint Davis is a reporter for the Scripps National Desk. (KGTV) — Next time you hail an Uber or Lyft, maybe consider some hand sanitizer after touching that door handle. That's because ride-sharing vehicles are on average about 35,000 times germier than a toilet seat, according to a new study by insurance provider Netquote. Ridesharing measured about 6,055,963 colony-colony forming units (CFU) compared to an average toilet with 171.61 CFU.Rideshare vehicles were far ahead of rental cars and even taxis on the study's germ index, and worse than toothbrush holders, coffee reservoirs, and toilets. The worst areas in rideshare vehicles were seat belts, door handles, and window buttons, the study found.RELATED: Uber and Lyft drivers in San Diego go on strike for better wages"In our rideshare vehicles, the window buttons were the worst when it comes to germs. On average, we found more than 5 million [colony-forming units]/sq. in. on the tiny buttons. The seat belts, too, held high levels of bacteria: more than 1 million CFU/sq. in.," the study says. "Interestingly, the door handles were the cleanest surface, with 1,810 CFU/sq. in. However, one study showed that the average car door handle holds 28 microorganisms per square inch – meaning the average rideshare door handle is 64 times germier."The study compared three random ride-share cars, three taxis and three rental cars. While not all germs are harmful, higher levels of some bacteria pose a risk. The study's samples revealed the presences of bacillus (a type that can cause infections and food poisoning); gram-positive rods, including cocci (which is linked to skin infections, pneumonia, and blood poisoning); gram-negative rods (which tend to be harmful to humans); and yeast (which under the right conditions has the potential cause skin infections, especially in people with compromised immune systems). 1828

1)   When does daylight saving time start?Daylight saving time ends Sunday, November 3 at 2 a.m. when clocks will fall back one hour to 1 a.m. This means that sunrise and sunset times will be one hour earlier starting Sunday.2)   Who is affected?Almost all Americans, except for those in Hawaii, most of Arizona and U.S. territories, will need to make sure their clocks move back an hour. Many electronic devices, such as televisions, computers and smartphones, will automatically move forward. Non-digital clocks will need to be reset manually.3)   Why is Daylight Saving Time necessary?Depending on whom you ask, it is not. What daylight saving time does is shift an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Governments implemented daylight saving time as a measure to conserve energy. While Americans conserve some energy in the evening with more daylight, research has found that the benefit is negated by increased energy usage in the morning. Is Daylight Saving Time worth it?4)   Why not have Daylight Saving Time year round? It has been tried before. Most recently, President Richard Nixon implemented year-round daylight saving time in 1974 as America was affected by an energy shortage. The act ended in 1975 as Congress established a standard practice for daylight saving time, allowing for winter mornings to have more daylight, so more people could go to work and school in the daylight. Also, the legislature in Florida approved year-round daylight saving time earlier in 2018, but the proposal needs approval in Washington. 5)   What is the history of Daylight Saving Time? Many consider Benjamin Franklin as the inventor of daylight saving time, though he only suggested that Parisians wake up earlier to enjoy more of the daylight, and to conserve candle wax. According to the University of Washington assistant professor of economics Hendrik Wolff, Germany during World War I was the first nation to implement daylight saving time. The practice spread to America during World War II. The European Union is planning on phasing out daylight saving time as soon as 2019.  2169
