SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — About an hour east of San Diego is a town with few people and a lot of history."In 1880 you'd be getting run over by wagons sitting right here in this little route," Larry Johnson, president of the Mountain Empire Historical Society, says standing on a road in Campo. "I initially came here in 1956."And like many others they come here for a reason.Robert Marks, who owns East County Lumber & Ranch Supply, learned Campo was for sale last week. "We found out the owner was selling all 3 parcels, maybe he won it in a card game!" Marks jokes.While we can't verify that, the current owner of Campo is a Las Vegas investor. He's looking to sell but hasn't named a price.The sale encompasses 28 residential units and seven commercial properties. About 100 to 150 people live in the listing area and about 3,000 are scattered across the whole town. Listing agent Conor Brennan with Marcus & Millichap says interested parties include rehabbers, developers, horse breeders, and movie producers."My reaction is if he sells it I hope we get someone who wants to put something in this community," Marks says."Personally I don't want big housing developments, I'm not for that," Johnson adds.But it wasn't too long ago the town was looking for another buyer in 1999. Since then, things have largely remained the same."We like it country, we like to have a few new people join us and keep population increasing a little," Johnson says.But residents of Campo want potential buyers to know this is: "It's awesome. SAN DIEGO (CNS)  - A 39-year-old woman suffered some head injuries Saturday morning during a home invasion at a residence in the Nestor community of San Diego, where one of two suspects fired a shot into the structure, shattering the glass of a rear patio door.No property was taken, said Officer Steve Bourasa of the San Diego Police Department.The woman was with her 45-year-old husband at their home in the 1500 block of Oro Vista Road when someone knocked on their front door a little before 1:30 a.m. and asked for a woman, Bourasa said.``The woman told the male no one by that name lived there," he said. ``The male left the front door and went to the rear of the residence, where he was joined by another male. The two males jumped the patio fence and began banging on the rear glass patio door."One of the suspects fired a shot into the patio door, shattering the glass and one of the two suspects entered the home, he said.He confronted the woman, demanded money and punched her several times when she said she did not have any money, he said.``Meanwhile, the husband had exited the front door and went around to the rear of the residence, where he saw the other male standing on the grass," Bourasa said. ``That male pointed a handgun at the husband and then fled."The man heard his wife screaming, ran back inside his home and saw her being assaulted by one of the two suspects. The man then began punching the suspect who had been assaulting his wife, causing the suspect to flee the residence, where he jumped over the patio fence and ran off, he said.The 39-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital, he said.One suspect was described as a 20 to 30 year old Latino man with a normal 5-foot, 7-inch tall normal build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with black pants and glasses.The second suspect was described as a 20 to 30 year old Latino man with a 6-foot, 2-inch tall normal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A colorful moment for four San Diegans today. They've been color blind their whole lives, but thanks to a new pair of special glasses...that's about to change."Eventually when I got to high school, and realizing I was color blind was one of those things, like, oh, that's why I couldn't see that or I couldn't see that," said Ricardo Solano. Solano is one of about 300 million people around the world who are color blind.But as a research associate for a biotech company, there are days when he needs a little help from his colleagues."One of the main dyes they use is like red and green to differentiate things," he said, laughing. "It's a big contrast apparently, but I can't see the contrast."Solano has a good sense of humor about it, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't wish he could see the full elegance of a San Diego sunset."Just enjoying the beauty of life," he said. "I like to go backpacking and outdoors and stuff."For people who are color blind, pink looks gray, red looks brown and the colors red and green can look almost white-ish."Color vision deficiency is passed down through the father's genes," said Corey Ulz, an optician at Scripps Poway Eyecare. He said things can look dull and colors, washed out."It basically makes the colors that you and I would normally see normally not as vibrant," he said. "A little more muddled."On Monday, Solano and three other San Diegans got to see vibrant color, thanks to a special pair of enchroma glasses.Their reactions and expressions were heartwarming. "Red. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 36-year-old Filipino man was arrested soon after police say he shot a woman twice in the back as she sat in her car outside a Bay Terraces apartment complex.San Diego Police say Emmanuel Ocular walked up to the 20-year-old woman as she was in her car in the 6800 block of Doriana St. at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. Without warning, Ocular shot the woman twice in the back and fled the scene, police say.The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.Soon after, police located Ocular in the 4800 block of Eastgate Mall and arrested him.Police did not immediately have a motive for the shooting. SDPD Gang Detectives are investigating the incident. 703
