New York Democratic congressional nominee Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will win her general election race easily and become the youngest woman ever in Congress, CNN has projected.Having turned 29 last month, Ocasio-Cortez will inch out the previous holder of the distinction, New York Democratic Rep. Elise Stefanik, who was elected to Congress at age 30.Ocasio-Cortez defeated New York Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley in the primary election earlier this year. The victory was considered a stunner and helped make Ocasio-Cortez a national political figure.Crowley was the No. 4 Democrat in the House and seen as a potential speaker one day. His loss effectively handed the seat to Ocasio-Cortez, a Latina who has become a key left-wing voice.Ocasio-Cortez ran unabashedly to Crowley's left in the New York City district and previously worked as an organizer on Vermont independent Sen. (KGTV) - Peking Restaurant, a staple of the North Park food scene for 88 years, will close in March of 2019.The owners made the announcement on their Facebook page earlier this month, saying it was time to retire."I'm going on 75 years old," co-owner Ken Fong told 10News. "It's time to enjoy my last few years."The Facebook post says "This decision did not come lightly to us as Pekin is such a special place in our hearts and we love what we do and all of you. A majority of our incredible staff here have been with us 25-40 years... and are ready for the next chapter of retirement and new endeavors."Fong says it's not just the owners who want to retire, but cooks and servers as well.Since word got out about the closure, the restaurant has been flooded with people who want one more meal at a place that became the go-to spot for Chinese food in the area."It's overwhelming," says Fong. "It's driving us nuts. Everyone is overworked."Fond adds that he doesn't mind the extra work, but he didn't expect this kind of reaction.In the wake of the extra crowds, the restaurant put up a sign warning customers that wait times may take longer than usual. They say they don't want to add capacity, so they can give customers the same level of service they've always had.People in the area say it's sad to see such a great place go away."This is something I've known my whole life. I'm going to miss it," says Barbara Sims. She used to come with her parents as a child. Now she brings her grandkids to the restaurant when they visit.Fong says he appreciates all the well wishes he's received in the past few weeks."They all want to come back and have one last memory," he says. "So, thank you."The restaurant will stay open through the Chinese New Year in February and then close in March.Fong says several people and real estate groups have looked into buying it, but he doesn't know if the new owners will keep the location as a Chinese food restaurant or open something new. 2001

Otherwise, he argues nothing will get accomplished.Oliveria believes the sign supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection bid was specifically singled out, because he also has another sign encouraging people to vote, but that one was never touched.For those wondering if putting electric fencing in residential areas is legal in the state, WJAR reports that it depends on the laws and regulations in each community. NEW YORK CITY — A woman was seriously injured Monday night when a man unexpectedly pushed her into a train pulling into a Manhattan subway station, according to the NYPD.Police said the shoving happened around 9:30 p.m. at the West 4th Street-Washington Square subway station near Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village.The 55-year-old woman was standing on the platform when the man suddenly pushed her into a moving train pulling into the station, officials said.The victim hit the side of the train and then fell back onto the platform, police said.She was rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition. He was 85.The Brooklyn-born high school dropout wrote several books, including a bestselling memoir “A Drinking Life."A son of Irish immigrants, Hamill wrote for the New York Daily News, the New York Post and Newsday. He also served as editor in chief of the Post during a few days in 1993 when its staff revolted against the temporary owner.A passionate liberal, his open letter to Robert Kennedy helped persuade the senator to run for president.Hamill was among those who wrestled a gun away from Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan in 1968 at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. 747
