Half of the ten people given an insulin injections Tuesday night instead of flu shots are out of the hospital. It happened at the Jacquelyn House, a group home for the developmentally disabled. “This situation could’ve been a lot worse, could’ve been a lot worse,” said Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Police Sergeant Jim Warren.Sergeant Warren says investigators are still looking into how the mix-up happened. He says police face added challenges in their investigation.“Some of these individuals are not vocal. So when we are at the scene trying to figure out, it’s pretty chaotic,” Sergeant Warren said.In a statement, company that owns Jacquelyn House confirmed that a contract pharmacist went to the facility give flu shots to residents and employees."Yesterday afternoon, a contract pharmacist went to our ICF/IID, Jacquelyn House, to administer the flu vaccine to the residents and employees. After the administration by the pharmacist, all of those who received the vaccine began to have reactions. Emergency services were contacted immediately, and the Bartlesville Fire Department, Ambulance and Police Department responded quickly and provided exceptional support to our residents employees. All persons that received the injection were transported to Jane Phillips Hospital. It is our understanding the investigation into the cause of the reactions to the injections is presently being conducted by local authorities."Police say it's too early in the investigation to determine whether there was any criminal intent. This article was written by Tatianna Taylor for KJRH. 1585

Hardline Brexiteer Boris Johnson has won the UK's Conservative Party leadership contest and will take over from outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May when she steps down on Wednesday.Johnson, a former Mayor of London and British Foreign Secretary, was officially named the new Tory leader on Tuesday, beating his rival Jeremy Hunt in a ballot of party members. The leadership vote was triggered after an embattled May was forced into resigning after losing the support of her cabinet, many of whom were fed up with her inability to secure the UK's departure from the European Union (EU).As prime minister, Johnson, 55, will inherit the same problems of a deeply divided Parliament -- and nation -- when he assumes the role.Throughout his leadership campaign, Johnson was vocal about his willingness to exit the EU without a deal, pledging to leave "do or die" on October 31, the latest deadline for the UK to depart the bloc.He said that he'd be willing to force Brexit through on that date by suspending Parliament, if he's unable to negotiate a new exit deal with EU officials. The EU has said there is no chance of reopening the Withdrawal Agreement, the deal that May made with the bloc in 2018 but which has failed to satisfy both the Europhile and Euroskeptic wings of both the Tory party and Parliament. While Johnson's stance on Brexit have defined his leadership bid, his incendiary remarks on religion and race have sparked criticism about his character.Writing in his weekly column in the British newspaper the Daily Telegraph last August, he likened Muslim women wearing veils to "letter boxes" and "bank robbers."Earlier this month, he faced new accusations of Islamophobia after claiming in a newly-unearthed 2007 text that Islam left Muslim countries "centuries behind" the Western world.Previously, Johnson called people from the British Commonwealth "flag-waving piccaninnies," referred to the " 1919

Hurricane Dorian is now a category 2 story with top winds at 105 MPH, as of the 11 p.m. advisory from he National Hurricane Center. It is slightly below major hurricane classification, which begins at 111 MPH. The pressure has dropped to 977MB, a drop of 13 MB from from the 5 p.m. advisory.Dorian is expected to become a category 3 hurricane on Friday. The National Hurricane Center's official forecast has Dorian making landfall late Monday on the Florida east coast as a major hurricane. National Hurricane Center forecaster Eric Blake said that Dorian is bound to become a category 4. "Unfortunately, I don't see any large-scale factors that would prevent Dorian from becoming an extremely dangerous category 4 hurricane during the next few days," Blake said. Blake noted that there is still a large margin of error on where Dorian comes on shore. Even as Dorian approaches Florida, the entire east coast of the state is still in the crosshairs of the hurricane.Adding insult to injury is the projected forward speed of the storm. The onslaught of tropical storm winds is slated to arrive Sunday night on the Florida east coast, but landfall of the hurricane isn't expected until Monday evening. It is possible parts of Florida could see up to two full days of tropical storm conditions from Dorian. 1316
