A man who claims he worked for Amazon said he quit on the job and abandoned his delivery truck at a metro Detroit gas station.Derick Lancaster, 22, made the post on Twitter Monday.Lancaster told WXYZ he was frustrated with the long hours, number of deliveries, and pay. A police department in Arkansas has apologized for sharing a misleading warning about the danger of opioids on its Facebook page."The post about the fentanyl was sent so me from another officer at another Department," the Leachville Police Department wrote on Facebook Thursday. "I simply shared it. I’m should have checked into it further before I posted it. Sorry for the confusion."The Leachville Police Department warned residents to wipe down shopping carts before using them to protect against the dangers of fentanyl, a powerful opioid. "Fentanyl or something like that still on their hands and they touch that cart handle and then you do, it can get into your system," the department originally posted on Facebook. "Scary but worth taking the time to clean the handle. All you'd have to do is rub your nose or touch your child's mouth. I never even considered this possibility. Children being exposed to just the powder or residue is a bad situation that can turn deadly."While a police officer in Ohio recently claimed ot have overdosed on fentanyl by simply touching the substance, some experts dispute the officer's claim.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, opioids killed more than 33,000 people in 2015. A wallet-sized card with a picture of a young girl in West Michigan on the front may not mean much, but once flipped over the card’s intent is revealed.It asks people to pay it forward.“When we see the cards, we’re sad, but we’re happy because people look at the card and see our daughter,” said Cindi Rasmussen.Cindi and her husband, Mark, are the parents of the girl on the card.Her name is Molly.The parents describe the 16-year-old Forest Hills East student as fun-loving, social, and always on the go.“My favorite line of mine was, ‘When you finish what you’re doing, can you take me to Starbucks? Or can you take me to the gas station to get candy?’” Mark remembered.But this past June, everything stopped for the family.Molly died while swimming with a friend at Lake Bella Vista in Cannon Township. According to her parents, Molly was an epileptic and had a seizure in the water.“There’s not a day or a second that I don’t think about her,” said Mark.“That whole night was awful,” said Cindi.However, in the midst of their grief came Molly’s Cards, which encourage people to perform a small task, like opening a door or paying for coffee, in honor of the Grand Rapids native.Cindi says one of her former co-workers created Molly's Cards after Cindi asked people to pay it forward in lieu of sending more flowers to their family.The family estimates more than 1,000 Molly’s Cards have been distributed already.
