TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) — Hundreds of Tijuana residents have congregated around a monument in an affluent section of the city south of California to protest the thousands of Central American migrants who have arrived there via caravan in hopes of a new life in the U.S.The locals waved Mexican flags, sang the Mexican national anthem and chanted "Out! There have now been more than 2 million confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the United States, according to a database kept by Johns Hopkins University.The U.S. surpassed the milestone early Thursday morning. More than 112,000 people have died in connection with the virus in the United States — all of them coming since February.Across the country, many regions are seeing a gradual increase in cases as states ease lockdown restrictions. Earlier this week, 14 states reported 7-day highs associated in newly-reported cases. Some of those see increases have occurred in rural areas of the country.More than 7.25 million people worldwide have contracted the disease since it was first detected in China late last year. The U.S. continues to lead all countries in confirmed cases, followed by Brazil (about 740,000 cases), Russia (about 493,000 cases) and the United Kingdom (about 290,000 cases).The U.S.also leads all countries in deaths linked to the virus, followed by the U.K. (about 41,000), Brazil (about 38,000) and Italy (about 34,000).Health experts suspect that the true number of people who have been infected with the coronavirus is likely much higher. Many people often experience mild symptoms and never seek out a test. Some countries, like the U.S., were also limited by a lack of testing resources at the beginning of the outbreak.Though there is currently no cure or vaccine for the coronavirus, Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases says he hopes the NIH will have a "couple hundred million" doses of a viable vaccine available by the end of the year. 1630

According to the American Psychological Association, two in three adults say this election has been a major source of worry. Now health experts say that stress could also affect our children.Child and adult psychiatrist Dr. Judith Joseph has some advice for parents to help manage their children's anxiety during this time of unrest.She says it starts with communication. When there's a lot of stress in the environment, Dr. Joseph says that also cause the cortisol levels to also go up causing you to lose focus. It's important to talk to your children to find out how they're feeling.Next, use the election as a teaching moment and reassure them they are safe no matter the outcome. Create a project that involves kids learning about the voting process and how government works. Also, limit news exposure. Getting too much screen time can only lead to more anxiety.Furthermore, while creating a large change may be a bit of a stretch, Dr. Joseph urges parents to be honest about what’s happening in the world and focus on empowering our youth by allowing them to give back locally.Finally, encourage kids to keep a journal. This year’s first rehabilitated eagle is released back into the wild Monday, at Pioneer Trails Recreation Area, just north of Aurora, Colorado.She was originally found near this park March 2, with no apparent injury, but she wasn't flying.“We tested her and she had a lead level of 18.3,” said Betsy Finch, manager of Raptor Rehabilitation. “And that is micrograms per deciliter. Anything above 10 toxic.”Bald eagles are getting sick and dying from lead poisoning after eating the carcasses of animals shot with lead bullets. The Fontenelle Forest Raptor Recovery Center typically sees 20 eagles a year, it’s already hit that number this year; only two have survived.For the past seven weeks, Finch, has nursed the eagle released Monday back to health, treating her for lead poisoning, as she has done with many other eagles.“This is a real eagle celebration today,” Denise Lewis, Director of Raptor Recovery said. “This is what it’s all about.”Before her big moment, she is banded and photographed.It's bittersweet. Finch invests a lot of time nursing these birds back to health. But she insists, she isn't sad to see her go.“Not really,” Finch said. “They don't belong with us.”Out in the wild, she'll go right back to hunting, and soaring free.“If she has a mate out there she will find that mate,” Finch said.And she said it's not too late for her to breed yet this season.If you find an injured raptor, such as an eagle or an owl, call the Raptor Recovery Rescue Hotline at 1866-888-7261. 1531
