SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - New advertisements against Measure B riled up supporters, who spoke out against the massive development Friday.The commercial states, "Measure B the Newland Sierra project, is a luxury development," something supporters vehemently deny."What I think is disingenuous is making people feel fearful of what can happen in this development," supporter Melinda Vasquez said.Friday, dozens gathered in Kearny Mesa to advocate for Newland Sierra's development project. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for a suspect after a man died following a fight in downtown San Diego Monday. Police were called to the intersection of 11th Avenue and Market Street just before 6 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from trauma to his upper body. Medics provided life-saving measures and the man, later identified as 56 year-old Kevin Leray Hughes, was taken to the hospital where he later died. According to police, the victim and suspect got into an argument. “The interaction escalated, resulted in the victim’s death,” police say. The suspect, described as a black man in his 20s last seen wearing burgundy pants, a red hooded sweatshirt and black under shirt, fled the scene after the fight. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - More than 3,000 street lights in San Diego is expected to get ‘eyes and ears’ by the end of the month.Last year, the city announced that they would be retrofitting 3,200 street lights with smart technology.RELATED: Smart street lights coming to San Diego Nearly 3,000 of the “sensor packages” have been installed on existing street lights according to David Graham, Deputy Chief Operating Officer for Smart & Sustainable Communities.  However, they have not yet been activated.The technology on the street lights has a sort of camera and microphone.While it may seem a little “Big Brother-ish” to some, Graham assures the public they won’t be used for spying. The cameras and sensors would only collect data on parking, traffic congestion, and pedestrian safety. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have released photos of the man accused of badly beating a Pacific Beach bouncer Sunday night. According to police, four men tried to enter through the side door of a restaurant on the 700 block of Grand Avenue around 9:20 p.m. Sunday when a bouncer told the group they had to use the main entrance. As a confrontation escalated, police say one of the men picked up a metal crowd barrier pole, hitting the bouncer in his head. Others in the group then reportedly started fighting with other bouncers at the restaurant before all four men left, according to police. The bouncer who was hit in the head suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Another bouncer suffered a broken nose and two other staff members suffered some bumps and bruises. The man suspected of swinging the pole was described as black, in his 30s, 6 feet tall, and 250 pounds with a muscular build.
