He said innovation is the lifeblood of a company.He also visited a tractor manufacturing plant and a bearing producing company, both enjoying rapid growth thanks to restructuring. Hu asked officials at the two companies to continue with their restructuring and their ongoing expansion through innovation.Hu also visited two research institutes. Hu told farmers that supporting grain production is a long-term policy and the state will again boost such support in the future so farmers can earn more and increase their wealth by planting grain.Hu said China would continue to give priority to the development of rural areas, agriculture and farmers during the 12th five year plan, China's development blueprint for the next five years.Hu noted that China's grain yields have increased for 6 consecutive years, and this year the summer yield of grain is another good harvest, despite earlier bad weather.Hu said, however, that Henan, as China's bowl of grain, should take on the responsibility to safeguard the nation's food security and enhance its agricultural production capacity.While visiting a local village, Zhouli village of Mengjin county, Hu requested village-level party organizations to work for the interests of farmers.Hu added that the party organization plays a critical role in improving the standards of living for farmers.Zhouli village was relocated to its present site to make way for a water conservation project in the Yellow River in 1995. Since then, the per capita annual income of local farmers rose from 680 yuan (100 U.S.Dollar) to its current 4,950 yuan now, and farmers now have access to running water, cable TV as well as other public services.Hu said the government would continue providing favorable policies to farmers so they might lead better lives.At the end of his visit, Hu urged continuing efforts to transform the economic growth pattern, adjust the economic structure, increase the amount of indigenous innovation, continue to promote energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection as well as reform and opening up.

ISTANBUL, Turkey, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao's special representative and State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Tuesday vowed to boost bilateral ties and increase exchanges of visits by leaders and senior officials.Dai met with Gul on the sidelines of the third summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA) here. BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- China's fiscal risk is controllable as it aims for a balanced economy, a senior finance official said Friday in a call for "growth-friendly" fiscal consolidation of the world economy."According to some indicators, the fiscal risk China is facing is controllable, and China's fiscal development retains sound momentum," said Vice Finance Minister Zhu Guangyao at a news briefing on the fourth Group of 20 (G20) summit.China's budget deficit accounted for 2.9 percent of GDP in 2009 and was expected to stand at 2.8 percent this year, said Zhu."Even facing healthy and sound momentum, the Chinese government attaches importance to balanced and stable economic development," said Zhu.Fiscal consolidation would be a major topic at the Toronto summit, and the G20 leaders would discuss how to maintain robust, sustainable and balanced economic growth, said Zhu.Some European Union (EU) member states have announced austerity plans to cut public deficits in a bid to restore investor confidence in their economies and in the euro, but the fiscal consolidation measures have drawn strong opposition.Zhu said the global economy was undergoing gradual recovery, but still facing some uncertainties, especially with the European debt crisis.

I think it is untrue," said Wen when answering a question from Juergen Hambrecht, chief executive of German chemical company BASF.Foreign firms have voiced concern China's indigenous innovation policy might provide incentives for government bodies to purchase products developed by Chinese companies.The World Bank in a July report gave China a low investment environment ranking.But the amount of foreign direct investment (FDI) that flowed into China in the first half of the year rose 19.6 percent year on year, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce (MOC).China attracted 12.51 billion U.S. dollars in FDI in June alone, up 39.6 percent year on year.Wen said, "Foreign investment will not pour into a country where the investment environment is worsening."Wen said China has relatively good infrastructure as well as fair and stable market environment.
