A woman in Illinois is warning others about the dangers of gel manicures claiming that the UV lamps at the nail salon gave her cancer.Karolina Jasko, 20, told WFLD that she was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer. Jasko says that her doctor said it was most likely caused by getting her nails done at the nail salon. Specifically, Jasko claims the cancer was caused by the lamp that emits UVA rays to cure gel manicures.According to an unrelated report published by the American Academy?of Dermatology, UV exposure during gel manicures should be a concern for everyone, but especially for people who are highly sensitive to UV light. Chris G. A woman was thrown from a vehicle on I-10 south of Eloy, Arizona. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers responded to a crash on eastbound Interstate 10 near Picacho, just after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Troopers received 911 calls about the incident, and one caller told DPS a woman was thrown from a vehicle. When troopers arrived on the scene they found a woman in her twenties who had been killed. The body was found on the right shoulder. The victim has not been identified. According to DPS, the suspect was traveling in a white Volkswagen sedan. No other suspect description has been given. The eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed near Eloy for about seven hours, but have since reopened.   784

A pharmaceutical that has already issued a recall for dozens of children's medications is expanding its recall to include more than a thousand additional medications for both humans and animals.The FDA reported earlier this month that King Bio had issued a voluntary recall for about 30 children's medications for a possible microbial contamination. After losing a child to a drug overdose, one mother prepares to save others through a program to teach people how to handle the anti-overdose drug Narcan."Maybe I'll be at the right place at the right time for somebody else," Pat Jorgensen said.Pat's daughter, Tiffany, died five years ago at the age of 29. She's left raising Tiffany's daughter."Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her," Pat said. "When someone gets engrossed in a drug addiction, it's really hard coming out of it. It's the hardest thing to get off of. As her mother, I will always feel like what did I do? Maybe I did something wrong? It's been a very hard road. The whole family has been through a lot. It's not something you just get over."Pat and her son were among dozens who showed up to receive free Narcan, and training on how to use it to potentially save a life.The training session was held at the Water Tower in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood Wednesday night. In this case, the Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) has a Prevention Department that provided the free Narcan and training.
