CINCINNATI — Cincinnati police, who were told a car was stolen with an infant still inside, now say that a child was never in danger and that the person who reported the car stolen lied to get a quicker response from police.Just before 10 p.m. Thursday evening, a 2010 Mercury Milan was reported stolen from a BP gas station in the 1300 block of Hopple Street with a 10-month-old infant still inside.Police caught up with two suspects in the car shortly before 11 p.m., and the suspects fled the vehicle about five miles away from where it was reported stolen.Officers did not find a child inside the vehicle, and the suspects evaded capture, police said.Cincinnati police said the person who reported the car stolen changed his story about 45 minutes into their investigation, saying the infant was not in the car when it was stolen."He stated that there's some money in the car, and that's why he told us there was a 10-month-old in the car, because he knew it would be a top priority for us if this was the case," Cincinnati Police Capt. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- The South Bay community is mourning the sudden loss of a beloved Olympian High School teacher.Vanessa Sholty’s family said she suffered a stroke on Friday and passed away Sunday. She was only 39-years-old.Sholty’s sister, Rebecca Webb, spoke about her love for teaching dance and her love for children. “She’s been dancing for her whole life. She loves to dance and teach the kids to dance,” Webb said.Sholty taught dance and physical education at Olympian High School in Chula Vista. With distance learning and COVID-19 protocols, Sholty — like the other teachers — made adjustments.“She set up her whole living room like a dance studio,” Webb said.Sholty leaves behind her husband and two young children. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with costs.“We were not prepared for any of this,” Sholty said. “I walk into her house and I see all her school stuff still there because she had she was working that day… it's just some major shock for us all.”Webb said support from the community, including messages from students and fellow staff members, is helping them keep strong.“Her passing has deeply affected us all,” said a post on the Olympian High School Facebook page. “We have grief counselors available for anyone wishing to talk about this tragic event. CHULA VISTA (CNS) - A homeless man accused of repeatedly burglarizing the office of a South Bay community group before torching the premises last week pleaded not guilty today to a slew of charges including arson of a structure, grand theft and burglary.Christopher Treyvoun Jenkins, 28, was ordered held on 0,000 bail.He faces six years and eight months in prison if convicted.Jenkins allegedly set fire to the Chula Vista headquarters of the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment shortly after midnight on Nov. 9, causing major damage to the structure and its contents, according to police.RELATED:?Homeless man arrested for Chula Vista arsonJenkins also is believed to have burglarized the H Street office in January and June, Chula Vista police Lt.
