Surveillance video captured a woman red-handed, with her hand in a donation box at a 7 - Eleven in Melvindale, Michigan. However, she wasn’t putting in her two cents.  The images have some people outraged and giving the lady a piece of their minds. The video shows the woman standing at the counter. It appears when the coast was clear, she made her move.According to the video, she grabbed the donation box meant for the Dearborn Animal Shelter and people with Friends For Animals of Metro Detroit. The staff and volunteers help cats and dogs every step of the way. The donations are used for medical care, food, shelter and anything the animals need in order to help them get adopted. Now it’s gone. “There’s about 40 dollars in there coins and bills”, said 7-Eleven employee Michelle Roberson.“Robbing alone is disturbing, but from a charity that only helps people!,"  said David Wayman, who also works at the store. The shelter and the non-profit both need the support, said  Katie Johnson, Director of Operations with Friends of Animals of Metro Detroit.“We are a non-profit, we take in 2,500 animals a year and we rely on the generosity and support of wonderful donors," Johnson said. "We just put an appeal out there to say, whoever took it, please return it because it will really help us save a little furry life." If you would like to help them recoup some of the money that was lost when the donation box was stolen, you can make a donation at www.metrodetroitanimals.org. 1603

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Beto O'Rourke met during a chance encounter at a Texas airport this week, where the two reportedly exchanged kind words and discussed how they could "move forward" together just days after a highly-contentious Senate election.Cruz, a conservative Republican, beat O'Rourke, a rising star in the Democratic Party, in last week's midterm elections. The encounter was posted on Tuesday on Twitter and Facebook by Tiffany Easter, who posed in photos with the two Texas politicians, writing that "Beto noticed Ted sitting down and walked over to congratulate him on his re-election and campaign.""It was the first time they had seen each other since the election and the entire conversation was both of them talking about how they could move forward TOGETHER," Easter wrote on Facebook."Today we literally watched them come together. This is America. This is good. This is wholesome," she said, adding that she was in "awe" of the "humility" the two showed. Both Cruz and O'Rourke's campaigns did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment Thursday morning. 1102

SYMMES TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- An Ohio man on Thursday kidnapped an 84-year-old woman at knifepoint, stole money from her and forced her to chauffeur him to a drug deal, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil said authorities believe Brent Engel, 31, cornered and threatened the victim when she returned to her car after shopping at a CVS in Loveland, Ohio. Engel then forced the woman to drive to an ATM, withdraw money and drive him to purchase drugs, which he then used in the car. After five hours of ordering the victim to drive him around Hamilton County, Engel exited the vehicle and escaped, Neil said. The woman was not hurt in the incident. Engel, whose records include prior convictions for burglary, theft and drug use as well as an affiliation with a gang, now faces charges of aggravated robbery and abduction. He had not been arrested by Friday night.Neil said civilians with information about Engel's whereabouts should alert authorities immediately. Because of his gang affiliation, he “should be considered dangerous," and members of the public should not approach him. 1176
