Fewer flights by discount carriers mean less competition for other carriers, and less incentive to offer lower-priced seats on their planes."I think it certainly has the ability to pressure fares higher as we get into the busy summer months," said Helane Becker, airline analyst for Cowen.Uncertainty over when the Boeing 737 Max will be back in service has led airlines to cancel hundreds of flights a day all the way into August. Southwest canceled flights through August late last week, and American Airlines, the world's largest carrier, did the same on Sunday. United Airlines, the third US airline with a version of the 737 Max in its fleet, has canceled flights through early July.United on Tuesday trimmed its estimate for how much its capacity will grow this year. The opposite happens when fuel prices are higher. Fuel prices are about 20% above where they were a year ago, and prices are expected to climb higher in the next three months.Europe doesn't have as strong an economy as the United States, but a number of budget airlines have gone out of business in the last six months, including Wow Air, Primera Air and FlyBMI. A Phoenix man was arrested after stabbing his father so many times, the knife broke, according to court records. Phoenix police report that on Friday, March 1, they were called to a home in Phoenix after a witness observed mail collecting in a resident’s mailbox.Police discovered Clemente Valenzuela Garcia decomposing in the home. Police say he died from multiple stabs wounds to "multiple planes of his body."It is believed Clemente died on February 22.At the crime scene, police also allegedly found a broken knife blade and bloody footprints leading away from the victim’s body.Family members reported to police that Clemente and his son, Erik Joseph Garcia, 25, owned a truck together and that the truck was missing. Police also found an "extensive domestic violence history at the residence."A witness later reportedly gave police a social media video that shows Erik saying, "He deserved it. Everybody’s happy without him. I was done with him because I'm a man now. I'm free."Upon his arrest, Erik reportedly told police that he was tired of being yelled at, and he stabbed Clemente in the chest, multiple times until the knife broke.Police say shoes found in the bed of Erik's truck match the bloody footprints at the scene.Erik Garcia is being held without bond for first-degree murder. 1308

Air France confirmed on Wednesday the death of a stowaway who was discovered in the well of the landing gear after a flight from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, bound for Paris. In a statement, Air France said it was saddened by the incident and that an investigation is underway.According to BBC News, the stowaway was a child, roughly aged 10. It is unknown how the child was able to get into the landing gear. While there have been a handful of instances when a stowaway survived in the landing gear of a plane, there have been a number of recent examples of stowaways dying.
