News can happen at any time and any place, ujst ask Anna Boyko-Weyrauch.  The reporter from KUOW Public Radio had just locked her tray table into place when the pilot of the plane that was about to fly her to San Diego announced a delay."He says there’s a guy, and he’s got a plane and he’s flying around Seattle and so he’s tying up all the airways" said Boiko-Weyrauch. Her plane was among the 40 or so stranded for more than an hour while a rogue airport employee flew a Horizon Airways plane in the skies above Seattle.Boiko-Weyrauch immediately fired up her cell phone and began tweeting.  "I kick into news mode," she recalled.  "I hear these things from the pilot. I'm trying to confirm them."She used Twitter and e-mail to try to learn more about the situation. The pilot came back on the plane's intercom, telling passengers the man delaying their flight learned how to fly on the internet.  Somehow he managed not only to take off, but to fly past Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains.She tweeted: Hey @AlaskaAir, can you confirm any of the reports we’re hearing and reading? A stolen Q-400? A suicidal pilot? F-15 escorts? A crash? Anything? About an hour and 15 minutes after the delay began, Boiko-Weyrauch read a tweet that said the plane had crashed and smoke was seen.  Moments later, her pilot told passengers the delay was over.She set her phone to flight mode and waited three hours until the flight landed in San Diego to confirm the man who stole the plane crashed it and died.Boiko-Weyrauch laughed as she admitted she almost left her work cell phone behind, thinking she wouldn't need it during a weekend visit with her 93-year-old grandmother.  The reporter in her decided to keep the phone handy, just in case. 1829

North Wind Heating and Air is a local family-run business proudly serving Macomb County for 28 years. Lisa Agostino signed a work order approving both a service call and repairs to her a/c unit. The part was installed that same day. After the part was installed she reached out to North Wind stating that she no longer agreed with the price of the replaced part. Ms. Agostino was offered a solution to the dispute. She agreed that the part would be returned to North Wind. In turn Ms. Agostino would not be charged. This is what occurred. Ms. Agostino has not been charged for the service call or the replacement part.Days later Ms. Agostino posted false statements about North Wind on-line. She represents that she paid for the service call and replacement part, which she did not. These statements significantly effected North Wind's business. North Wind is a small local business. Ms. Agostino's false and defamatory statements have not only effected the North Wind's business, but has had a direct negative effect on its ability to offer full time hours to its employees.Prior to filing the lawsuit North Wind reached out to Ms. Agostino requesting the removal of the false statements. She refused. North Wind is simply seeking the removal of these false on-line statements.North Wind will continue to proudly serve its customers. 1342

NEW YORK (AP) — The credit card companies Visa and Mastercard say they will no longer allow their customers to use the cards to charge for services on the pornographic website Pornhub. The website, which claimed 42 billion visits last year, has been accused of showing videos that depict rape, underage and nonconsensual sex — most prominently in an investigation published last weekend in The New York Times. Mastercard says it has terminated its relationship with Pornhub after its own investigation confirmed violations of standards. Visa says it is still investigating, but suspended use of the card on the site. In a statement to The Associated Press on December 6, Pornhub said it is "irresponsible and flagrantly untrue," but after Visa and Mastercard announced their decision to terminate its relationship with the website, Pornhub called the decisions 'exceptionally disappointing.' 899

Nikolas Cruz, the 19-year-old who was arrested in connection to Wednesday's mass school shooting that left 17 dead, walked to a nearby McDonald's and Walmart after the massacre, Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said. According to Israel, Cruz tried to blend in with students evacuating the school after he allegedly committed the shootings. He then walked to a Walmart and bought a beverage from the Subway restaurant inside the store. Investigators believe that he then walked to a McDonald's and spent 40 minutes inside before leaving. Cruz was then caught by local police walking alongside a road. NEW YORK – A New York City police officer was among the several people arrested in connection to a drug trafficking bust, officials announced Monday.NYPD officer Amaury Abreu and two other men, Julia Bautista and Gustavo Valerio, are accused of conspiring to import and distribute cocaine.The three men were allegedly members of a multinational drug trafficking organization with distributors in the New York area and the Dominican Republic between January 2016 and October 2020.Bautista, 35, and Valerio, 38, were high-ranking members of the organization based in New York and were responsible for distributing and overseeing the distribution of cocaine once it was in New York, according to the federal complaint.Abreu, 34, allegedly used his position as a police officer and provided information about law enforcement procedures, performing warrant checks on DTO members, on at least one instance, distributed cocaine for the group.Officials said Abreu pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a million bond with home detention as a condition of the bond.Two other men face changes in connection to the bust. Cesar Diaz-Bautista, 43, faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, while Junior Ortiz, 29, faces charges of cocaine importation conspiracy.Ortiz was released on a 0,000 bond and Diaz-Bautista will be released on a 0,000 bond, officials said.The other two defendants had not yet been arraigned Monday.Since 2016, law enforcement agents have seized more than 350 kilograms of cocaine belonging to the DTO.“This criminal network allegedly trafficked more than 350 kilos of cocaine and was assisted by an NYPD officer, who used his knowledge and access to help them stay one step ahead of the law,” stated District Attorney Madeline Singas.“There is no place for corruption in the NYPD and it will always be prosecuted fully.
