Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday he would appoint a bipartisan committee to make recommendations for how to commemorate the memory of Sen. SHEBOYGAN, Wisc. -- A Sheboygan dad was arrested for OWI after his two toddlers fell out of his van and were seriously injured.Police said it happened Tuesday just before 7:30 p.m. near 8th Street and Indiana Avenue. A witness told police the two children fell out of the van as it went through an intersection. Officers were eventually able to identify the children who were one and two years of age.A short time later police located their father -- who said he was not aware they had fallen out of the van.He was then arrested for OWI and Child Neglect.One child was treated and released from a local hospital. The other child was transported to a Milwaukee area hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.  764

Several people were hurt in an "inmate-on-inmate" disturbance at CoreCivic's Red Rock Correctional Facility in Eloy, Arizona on Sunday morning.Twelve inmates were taken to outside medical facilities for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and one staff member was treated and released for minor injuries sustained in the incident, according to Jonathan Burns, CoreCivic's Director of Public Affairs.Burns says the disturbance happened just after 8:30 a.m. local time.The facility has been secured and all inmates and staff are accounted for, Burns said. CoreCivic is working with the Arizona Department of Corrections and local law enforcement as they continue to investigate.   724

Sexting among teens and younger children has increased over the past decade and poses a growing challenge for educators and parents, according to a new study.One in four young people said they'd received sexts, and one in seven reported sending them, according to the study, which was published Monday in the journal JAMA Pediatrics. The research included data from 39 separate research projects conducted between January 1990 and June 2016, with a total of 110,380 participants, all of whom were under 18 -- with some as young as 11.The researchers focused on data since 2008 and found an increase in sexting among young people.The increased number of young people involved in sending or receiving sexually explicit photographs or messages has corresponded with rapidly expanding access to cell phones.With that trend in mind, the study's authors suggest that "age specific information on sexting and its potential consequences should regularly be provided as a component of sex education."Why sext? 1008
