(KGTV) - A motorcyclist from San Marcos died Sunday after crashing into a truck in Carlsbad.According to Carlsbad police, the 19-year-old motorcyclist was riding along the 4600 block of Carlsbad Boulevard when he collided with a Toyota Tundra around 4:35 p.m.Emergency responders arrived and transported the motorcyclist to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on the way.The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old man from Grand Terrace, stopped on the scene.Investigators have not said what caused the collision. CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police have identified the suspects who reportedly attacked a Carlsbad woman, stabbing her to death during an attempted burglary Monday morning. According to police, Ian Bushee, 37, and Malissa James, 26, who are both transients, were arrested on the 4800 block of Park Drive Monday. Both are on probation in San Bernardino for residential burglary. Police say Bushee was arrested for homicide, burglary, conspiracy, auto theft and accessory after the fact. He has a huge heart and always puts others before himself, and I was really drawn to that," said Kathleen.Four days later, the graduate of The Citadel asked her to move to San Diego as he reported for duty at Camp Pendleton. She said yes. During the cross-country trip, she wondered aloud, 'What are we doing?'""He said, 'Kathleen, trust is a choice ... We're both insane, but at least we're insane together, and give them something to talk about," said Kathleen.Together, they moved into an apartment in Cardiff and their love grew. One business owner in Carlsbad said she had to fork up more than ,500 to provide outdoor dining."They said your option is to pay this or you don't get to go outside," said Annie Rammel, owner of Oak + Elixir in the Carlsbad Village.The City of Carlsbad charges 1 for businesses to move onto sidewalks, but it wasn't that simple for Rammel."We were told that the fee would be 1. That's doable for us; we were willing to spend the money to build a beautiful patio where people felt safe."Rammel said she needed to expand into public street parking spaces to make outdoor dining work because there wasn't enough space on the sidewalk. She saw other cities across the county moving quickly to offer low cost or no cost permits for businesses to do the same. She was hoping Carlsbad would follow suit.The Carlsbad City Council voted to approve moving into public spaces on July 28, and Rammel got a permit days later. That came after four weeks of being shut down and working with the city to find a solution."We didn’t want to just put tables on the concrete that are in parking spots next to cars driving by," she said. "We wanted to create a safe space for customers to feel like they could come in relax."Then, the unexpected happened."We got a phone call from the city saying that we actually needed to pay ,500," she said.The city is charging ,200 per parking space plus extra fees. "We don't get to keep it."The painful costs during an already difficult time were the only solution to keeping way Rammel's business running."We had to pull that ,500 from our savings," she said.
