In a frank, friendly and pragmatic atmosphere, leaders of the two countries had an in-depth exchange of views on how to further expand and deepen China-Turkey mutually beneficiary cooperation in all fields and on regional as well as international issues of common interest, reaching broad consensus, the declaration said.The two sides made an overall review of and highly appraised the development of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over the fruitful achievements in the relations.It is the shared view of the two sides that as emerging developing countries, both China and Turkey are at an important stage of development, the declaration said."With the historical background of deep and complex changes in the international situation, the continuous expansion of China-Turkey friendly relations and cooperation, both in scale and content, will not only benefit the two peoples, but also contribute to regional and world peace, stability and development," it added.

PARIS, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao and his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on Thursday vowed to boost the comprehensive strategic partnership between their countries. In talks with Sarkozy, Hu said the China-France relationship has been characterized by its strategic and global nature and its ability to move with the times since diplomatic ties were forged 46 years ago.Political dialogue has increasingly deepened and political mutual trust strengthened, said Hu.Bilateral trade is expected to exceed 40 billion U.S. dollars this year, and mutual investment has continuously increased, he said.The two countries have carried out extensive exchanges and cooperation in education, science and technology, and culture, and have kept close communication and coordination on major international issues, he added.Sarkozy said it was a great honor to receive Hu in his second state visit to France.Sarkozy congratulated China on the successful holding of the World Expo in Shanghai, saying the expo was another major international event hosted by China after the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

BEIJING, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Wednesday said the country's 12th five-year development plan, starting in 2011, should reflect the consensus of the entire society and motivate people from all walks of life.He also encouraged national political advisors to actively offer suggestions for the plan.Wen made the remarks in Beijing at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top advisory body.The national political advisors convened their meeting two days after the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee ended a four-day plenary session that set the outline of the 12th five-year plan, with key objectives in economic restructuring and improving living standards nationwide among others.In Wednesday's meeting, Wen said the State Council, or the Cabinet, would draw up the plan as outlined by the CPC Central Committee.He also said the theme of the 12th five-year plan was "scientific development" and would require China to accelerate the transformation of its economic growth mode, which he called "a strategic task of great urgency."The meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
