LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Climate Leaders Declaration and a series agreements were signed Tuesday by U.S. governors and mayor with their Chinese counterparts who attended the China-U.S. Climate Leaders Summit in Los Angeles.
China agrees with the African side on the proposal of upgrading the December meeting to a summit, and stands ready to work with African countries to make the summit a historic event that will strengthen China-Africa solidarity and chart the course for their future cooperation, he said.
Since the introduction of China-Britain mechanism for high-level cultural exchanges in 2012, the two countries have seen vigorous exchanges in education, technology, media, sports, public health, tourism, youth and other fields.
Xi suggested that the two sides lift the status of bilateral ties, beef up inter-party, parliamentary, sub-national and people-to-people exchanges, and deepen cooperation within such multilateral frameworks as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the United Nations, so as to increase political mutual trust and enrich their relationship.
Blinken said, in recent years, the United States and China have strengthened mutual trust and the U.S. is ready to work with China to advance collaboration and exchanges on areas including anti-piracy and peace-keeping.
