SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are asking the public to help find the driver who left a man with several severe injuries along an Ocean Beach street last month.Police say at about 10 p.m. on Sept. 6, a 64-year-old man was walking his bike northbound in the bicycle lane of the 4000 block of Nimitz Blvd. The suspect, driving a newer model Nissan Versa Note hatchback (shown below), struck the victim. The driver sped off, leaving the man severely injured.The victim was taken to a nearby hospital suffering from several fractures to his pelvis, ribs, fibula, and foot. He also suffered lacerations and injuries to his bladder and liver. The man is expected to survive but remains hospitalized, police say.Police say the Nissan should have damage to its passenger side front headlight, fender, and side view mirror. The latest round of wet weather is expected to be the heaviest in San Diego County, bringing between half an inch to an inch of rain to the coast. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Fire-Rescue crews rescued a paraglider who crashed into a dangerous Torrey Pines bluff Friday.SDFD crews arrived at the site of the crash at around 1 p.m. Sky10 footage showed the person clinging to the cliff, wrapped in the wreckage of a broken glider, just over a section of Blacks Beach.Lt. Rich Stropky says the man was in training to become a paragliding pilot. He apparently attempted to make a left hand turn away from the bluff but lost control near Saddle Back ridge, said Stropky.RELATED: Cliff, air rescue numbers on rise in San Diego CountyCrews were able to airlift the person from the cliffside just after 2 p.m. He was immediately brought to a nearby hospital for his injuries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue responded after a man reportedly got his hand stuck in an industrial tortilla press Thursday night.According to the department, the incident happened just after 5:30 at Tortillera La Perla on the 3100 block of National Avenue in San Diego.The man has been carried out of the factory, but a piece of the equipment is reportedly still stuck to the man's hand. His condition is unclear at this time. Also unclear is how the man got his hand stuck in the press. 507
