SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) — Cameras caught a thief wreaking havoc at an East County business park, culminating in several destructive acts after he realized he was locked in.Scott Trafton has seen the video countless times, but his emotions have yet to lessen."Aggravating and makes me angry," said Trafton, who owns XP Builders.Just before midnight last Thursday night, a truck is seen driving into a business park on Wheatlands Court. The truck, believed to be a Chevy Silverado, is parked in the dark for more than four hours, before a man emerges and heads toward Trafton's general contractor business. In the video, the man grabs items from the truck bed, before prying open a toolbox in the back. A knife at this side, the man would get away with more than a thousand dollars with of Trafton's tools. "It hurts being a small business. Every penny counts," said Trafton.Trafton is not the only victim. The thief left behind a trail of shattered truck windows and missing items."Basically took whatever wasn't bolted down," said Trafton.When the man went to leave, he was met by a gate, locked by someone who had left earlier. The camera spies him apparently chaining his truck to the fence and pulling forward, but he can't get the fence down."He then came over to another truck and broke a window. He then took a moving blanket to protect his truck and drove to another fence," said Trafton.In the video, you can see the flash of his lights, before his final act."He ran into the fence, spread it wide open and knocked it over," said Trafton.The repair bill will tally some ,000. SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. — In-person schooling was supposed to begin Monday for the J. O. Combs School District, but a move by teachers and staff forced the district to cancel school for the day.On Friday, a J. O. Combs Spokesperson said 109 teachers and staff requested not to work on Monday."Due to these insufficient staffing levels, schools will not be able to re-open on Monday as planned. This means that all classes, including virtual learning, will be canceled," wrote J. O. Combs Superintendent Dr. Gregory Wyman in a letter to parents on Friday. "At this time, we do not know the duration of these staff absences, and cannot yet confirm when in-person instruction may resume."A teacher in the district said that one of the reasons teachers decided to call out Monday was that they felt unprepared to teach students virtually and in-person.Teachers are expected to simultaneously instruct students in the classroom and those at home via live stream. One teacher believes they were not adequately prepared to cater to both types of learners, since all of the educators' attention has been on executing online learning."The issue is that [a] teacher would not be able to tend to the online learners that are on Google," said a teacher in the district. "Even in-class learning must be modified for online. So it's a lose-lose for both types of learners."That teacher said only one hour of training was given for the live stream equipment."Some classes have as many as 36 [on] their roster or more. About half are choosing to stay home, so we really need to service our online learners."Aside from the feeling of unpreparedness from teachers, many feel unsafe since benchmarks set by the Arizona Department of Health Services have yet to be met by any of the school districts."My coworkers do not feel safe. Metrics being met is a big deal. (KGTV) -- Ahead of heavy rain expected to hit the area in the next several days, Santa Barbara County issued mandatory evacuations for areas that are at extreme and high risk for debris flow.The mandatory evacuations go into effect Tuesday at noon for residents near the Thomas, Sherpa and Whittier burn areas.People in the Alamo burn area are in a recommended evacuation warning area. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Protesters dressed in salon gear took to the street outside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home Thursday.In video of the protest, some demonstrators are seen with curlers in their hair, plastic is draped over them and hair dryers hang from trees.The rally came two days after video of Pelosi getting her hair cut inside a California salon surfaced.California Governor Gavin Newsom lifted restrictions on hair salons serving customers indoors at the end of last month. However, the city of San Francisco still requires such services to only be provided outside.Pelosi says the salon told her it would be OK to come inside, because they are only accommodating one person at a time.She also claims the whole thing was a set-up, since the video was released to the media by the salon's owner, KGO reports. (KGTV) -- Cell phone video reportedly taken Wednesday morning shows San Diego County Sheriff's deputies at a San Marcos home that's been at the center of an ongoing battle. When Team10 arrived, there was an eviction resolution notice taped to a window on the property. Neighbors tell us that they're thrilled the eviction process is finally underway. This is a story that Team10 has been following since May - when we spoke with a local hopeful home buyer, John Masnica. He says Julie Frisino and her family unlawfully moved into the house while Masnica was in the process of closing escrow on the bank-owned foreclosure. Wednesday, he told us, "She's just a deadbeat from a family of deadbeats that take advantage of the system." He went on to say, "I hope that now that they're out of this house that there aren't any other available houses for them to try to break into."Frisino took the situation to court, claiming she had rights to be there. This summer, a judge said the bank trustee, not Frisino, had rights to the home.Masnica and his wife are due with their fourth child.
