SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A discrimination lawsuit filed by a former high-ranking employee against UC San Diego has reached a settlement agreement.Jean Ford served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for UC San Diego Health Sciences Advancement. In June 2019, she sued the UC Regents and Chancellor Pradeep Khosla, alleging age and gender discrimination, as well as wrongful termination.Team 10 first reported the lawsuit in June 2019.Ford came to San Diego in 2015 after a decade at Columbia University Medical Center, according to a biography previously on the UC San Diego website.The lawsuit alleged that she was subjected to discrimination and harassment by Chancellor Kholsa because she was a woman over the age of 40, then retaliated against for complaining about illegal conduct. The complaint alleged that Kholsa promoted a younger and less experienced man to supervise Ford.“My client has been a successful fundraiser for 25 years,” said attorney Kristina Larsen last year. “She was recruited to UCSD… and UCSD Health had their most successful fundraising year of almost 0 million under Ms. Ford’s leadership.”The UC Regents recently approved the settlement agreement, although the terms were not disclosed.In a statement, Larsen told Team 10:“Former UCSD Assistant Vice Chancellor Jean Ford, The Regents of the University of California, and UCSD Chancellor Pradeep Khosla have amicably resolved the claims between the parties, with none of the three admitting any wrongdoing. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - UC San Diego Health is opening a new clinic Monday in the Carmel Valley neighborhood.The 8,700-square-foot clinic, located at 6030 Village Way, will offer primary care and women's health services, according to UCSD Health. X-ray services and express care will be added to the clinic in 2021."Like all of our clinics, the Pacific Highland Ranch clinic is designed to support appropriate physical distancing, said UCSD Health Physician Group CEO Dr. Christopher Kane. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Symphony canceled the remainder of its 2020 season today as COVID-19-related closures drag on, with some performances canceled through May 2021.All Jacobs Masterworks concerts at Copley Symphony Hall at Jacobs Music Center have been canceled through Dec. 31. In addition, all special concerts and all concerts in the Broadway at the Jacobs, Jazz at the Jacobs, Fox Film and Family concert series have been canceled through May 2021.As a result of the cancellations and to simplify the ticketing process, the company will automatically move any 2020/21 subscription into the 2021/22 season. The agency tweeted out several photos Monday morning that show the agent with a large cut on his face and what appears to be shattered glass in the patrol car. “Our agents face dangers like this one while maintaining the security of our nation,” the agency said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - 36,000 pounds of cocaine seized in the Eastern Pacific Ocean will be offloaded Tuesday from the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf onto San Diego’s B Street Pier.The contraband is from 17 busts on smuggling vessels off the coasts of Central and South America, officials said. Five Coast Guard cutters were involved in the seizures between early February and early March.Rear Adm. Todd Sokalzuk, the 11th Coast Guard District commander who oversees the law enforcement phase of counter-smuggling operations in the Eastern Pacific region, said the Coast Guard is seizing record amounts of cocaine for the third year in a row.“I’m proud of the hard work and dedication of my crew, as well as the crews of Coast Guard Cutters Bear, Diligence, Harriet Lane, Venturous and the joint and interagency personnel who work hand-in-hand to secure our nation,” said Capt.
