SAN JOSE, Calif. – A woman was caught on video intentionally coughing on a baby at a California yogurt shop after getting into an argument with the child’s mother.The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the woman, who they call an “assault suspect.”Police say the adult female suspect was standing in line inside a Yogurtland in front of the mother and her 1-year-old child, who was in a stroller.A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect was upset the mother was not maintaining proper social distancing, so she removed her face mask, got close to the baby’s face, and coughed two to three times, according to police.Video then shows the suspect leaving the business. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The amount of snow blanketing the Sierra Nevada is even larger than the 2017 snowpack that pulled the state out of a five-year drought, California water officials said.As of Thursday, the snowpack measured 202% of average after a barrage of storms throughout winter and spring, according to the Department of Water Resources.The wet weather has slowed but not stopped, with thunderstorms prompting flash flood warnings Sunday in the central and southern parts of the state.At this time last year, the snowpack measured 6% of average — making this year 33 times bigger than 2018, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.In 2017, the snowpack measured 190% of average.The snowpack supplies about 30 percent of state water needs.In the Tahoe Basin, Squaw Valley ski resort has seen so much snow it plans to keep its slopes open until least July 5. In May alone, Squaw recorded 37 inches (94 centimeters).State officials consider the most important snowpack measurement to be the one taken around April 1 because that's typically when storm activity subsides."And then after that the sun's highest position in the sky contributes to rapid melting. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The robotic car company created by Google is poised to attempt a major technological leap in California, where its vehicles will hit the roads without a human on hand to take control in emergencies.The regulatory approval announced Tuesday allows Waymo's driverless cars to cruise through California at speeds up to 65 miles per hour.The self-driving cars have traveled millions of miles on the state's roads since Waymo began as a secretive project within Google nearly a decade ago. She said she felt “powerless to stop this figure of authority from putting his hands on my body.
