FORT WORTH, Texas -- A baseball coach at Texas Wesleyan University who told a Colorado athlete that the university doesn't accept recruits from Colorado because of past issues with drug tests has been fired.University President Frederick Slabach said in a news conference Thursday morning that Mike Jeffcoat was fired because of the email he sent to the Colorado athlete as well as an unspecified NAIA rule violation."The comments Mike Jeffcoat made are in no way a reflection of our university or its values," Slabach said. "We do not tolerate discrimination."Because of an ongoing investigation, Slabach did not provide any details about the alleged rule violation, only saying it was related to the eligibility of players and not any kind of discrimination.Gavin Bell, a senior at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, expressed interest in attending Texas Wesleyan University in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and joining the school's baseball program, but was rejected in an email from Jeffcoat.That email read: "Thanks for the interest in our program. Unfortunately, we are not recruiting players from the state of Colorado. In the past, players have had trouble passing our drug test. We have made a decision to not take a chance on Student-athletes from your state. You can thank your liberal politicians. For families missing the big screen, Walmart is set to debut its drive-in movie tour this summer.In a release posted to their website, Walmart said it will be working with Tribeca Enterprises to transform 160 of its store parking lots into contact-free drive-in movie theaters."Beginning in August, Walmart will roll out this red carpet experience in towns across the country for a combined 320 showings," the company wrote. "This family-friendly night will include hit movies, special appearances from filmmakers and celebrities and concessions delivered right to customer vehicles."The drive-in tour will run through October. Four states have approved legalizing marijuana. The measures are projected to pass in Arizona, Montana New Jersey and South Dakota. In Arizona and New Jersey measures would make recreational use of marijuana legal for people 21 and older.The Arizona measure also allows people convicted of certain marijuana crimes to seek expungement of their records. For students at Jackson Memorial Middle School in Ohio, Tuesday wasn't a normal day. When a seventh-grade student pulled out a gun and shot himself, students began to panic.  Airyonna Haggerty, who is a sixth grader at the school, described the moment teachers told her to get inside the classroom.The 12-year-old heard teachers screaming to get inside the classroom and the next thing she knew, she was hiding and crouching down with her fellow peers near the teacher's desk."I dropped everything. My phone, my chrome book, my book bag and me and my friends ran into the classroom and then we all hid. We were probably there for about 20 minutes," said Haggerty.The principal of the school knocked on the classroom door and told the students and teacher that everyone had to go to another class."We started gathering our stuff and went into the hallway. Then we went to go open the door and it was locked," said Haggerty.
