NEW YORK (AP) — Microsoft said Friday it is permanently closing nearly all of its physical stores around the world.Like other retailers, the software and computing giant had to temporarily close all of its stores in late March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Microsoft has 83 stores, including 72 stores in the U.S., where it showcases and sells laptops and other hardware.The company says it will "reimagine" spaces that serve all customers, including operating Microsoft Experience Centers in London, NYC, Sydney, and Redmond campus locations.Friday’s announcement reflects what the company calls a “strategic change” for its retail business as sales increasingly shift online.Microsoft said all employees would have the opportunity to remain with the company. We had polls that were so ridiculous, and everyone knew it," President Trump said Thursday night.In Virginia, Christopher Newport University's Wason Center for Public Policy was pretty close to predicting the results. A poll in late October said Biden was up by 12 in Virginia with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4. Biden is currently up 9.43%."It's pretty clear many polls were off, so I'd say broadly speaking this is a challenge with estimating what the true electorate is going to be for pollsters," said Dr. Rebecca Bromley-Trujillo, Research Director at the Wason Center.Part of the challenge is the uniqueness of President Trump. "We have our likely voter models. We have our expectation about who is going to turn out to vote," Bromley-Trujillo said. "Certainly, President Trump has been a unique candidate who has brought out different types of people at higher numbers than is typical."So, what needs to be fixed? Dr. Eric Claville, the Director of the Center for African American Public Policy at Norfolk State University, says more nuance is needed. He feels pollsters should concentrate on issues to help forecast why people vote a certain way."I think the polls have to ask themselves: What is it that really drives individuals to vote one way or another?" NIWOT, Colorado — The last of Crocs Inc.'s manufacturing facilities, located in Italy, is going to close, the company announced.It also closed its plant in Mexico. Crocs leaders did not give information on how it will continue producing its products during its second-quarter earnings report this week.The company grew its second-quarter earnings and revenue by 4.7 percent year-over-year. NEW YORK (AP) — Getting an Amazon package delivered from the sky is closer to becoming a reality. The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it has granted Amazon approval to deliver packages by drones. Amazon says the approval is an important step, but added that it is still testing and flying the drones. It did not say when it expected drones to make deliveries to shoppers. Last year, Amazon unveiled self-piloting drones that are fully electric, can carry 5 pounds of goods and are designed to deliver items in 30 minutes by dropping them in a backyard.The FAA said Amazon is the third drone delivery service to win flight approval.
