YEKATERINBURG, Russia, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao Tuesday presented a four-point proposal for dealing with the ongoing global financial crisis at the first summit meeting of BRIC countries which groups Brazil, Russia, India and China.     First, BRIC countries should commit themselves to bringing about an early recovery of the world economy, Hu said. "We should work hard to overcome the difficulties and try to take the lead in recovering from the global financial crisis," he said, adding "This is not only for our own need, but also contributes to world economic recovery." The first summit meeting of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) leaders is held in Yekaterinburg, Russia, on June 16, 2009.Second, BRIC countries should commit themselves to pushing forward the reform of international financial system, Hu said.     To establish a new international financial order that is fair, equitable, inclusive and well-managed, and provide guarantee for the sustainable development of the global economy in terms of system and mechanism conforms with the trend of the historical development and is in the fundamental interest of all parties, he said.     BRIC countries should improve the international financial supervision mechanism and ensure the effective participation of the developing countries in world financial supervision organizations such as the Financial Stability Board, Hu said.     Third, BRIC countries should commit themselves to implementing the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the president said.     The international community should not overlook development issues and cut the input for development while dealing with global financial crisis, he said.     Instead, it should pay close attention to the impact that the crisis has left on developing countries, especially the least developed ones, he added. He also called for greater food assistance and closer agricultural and food cooperation.     "We should also accelerate our efforts in developing clean and renewable energy, and establish advanced research and promotion systems in a bid to diversity our energy supply," Hu said.     He urged the four countries to strengthen information exchanges and communication, share the experience on epidemics preventions and control, and work together to develop and share vaccines, and cooperate in pandemic control and prevention.

BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao raised a five-point proposal Thursday to advance the Sino-Turkish friendly and cooperative relationship to a higher level.     Hu put forward the proposal on promoting the Sino-Turkish partnership on the basis of mutual respect, mutual trust, equality and mutual benefit as well as common development, when talking with visiting Turkish President Abdullah Gul at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. China was willing to work with Turkey to strengthen political ties, said Hu, adding that the two governments should strengthen communication and coordination and support each other on important issues concerning their core interests.     Their legislatures and parties should continue to conduct multi-level exchanges, so as to promote understanding and friendship. BEIJING, June 24 (Xinhua) -- China said Wednesday that boosting regional trade and investment was a crucial task for countries in east Asia.     Premier Wen Jiabao also called on countries in east Asia to "deepen financial cooperation and infrastructure construction to increase the ability to confront economic risks." During talks with his Thai counterpart, Abhisit Vejjajiva, Wen said China would always support the leading role the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) played in east Asia. BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese official has called on discipline chiefs of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at all levels to take the initiative of being self-regulatory and clean-handed.     He Guoqiang, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remark when meeting the Party's discipline chiefs at county level in Beijing on Tuesday.     He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, attached great importance to county-level discipline organs comprising the Party's discipline and inspection system.     The official called on the chiefs to conduct a determined and uncompromising fight against all corrupted officials and behaviors to defend the people's interests.     He urged Party committees and governments at all levels to improve the financial conditions, equipment and facilities of the county-level discipline organs for a better anti-corruption performance with the discipline inspectors.     More than 2,000 secretaries of discipline organs at county level throughout the country have been gathered in Beijing to attend a focused training course, the first of its kind in the history of the CPC's discipline work.     The training course, held in Party School of the CPC Central Committee, National School of Administration and training center of Supervision Ministry, has been aimed at improving their abilities to fight against corruption as well as maintain social stability.
