SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) -- A North County family has a message for a prankster who lit a firework on their doorstep. The Bennetts family's security video caught what appeared to be a teenager lighting a firework and setting it down on the porch of their San Marcos home last Friday night. The teen is then seen ringing the doorbell before running off. “I don’t know exactly what kind of firework it was. But it made a pretty big boom,” homeowner Melanie Bennetts said. She said there was a bench with pillows on their porch that could have caught on fire. Her husband was home at the time but didn’t answer the door. The Bennetts’ have two teenagers, but they did not recognize the young man in the security video. Bennetts said kids have egged and toilet-papered their house in the past. She doesn’t make a big deal about it because she understands kids will be kids. But in this case, she hopes kids and parents take note of the incident, and that it becomes a lesson that some actions could have serious consequences. “We live in Southern California where fire is not a joke,” she said. 1104

Holland Partner Group, a developer, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington released renderings of the development planned for 220 West Broadway, where the old San Diego Courthouse sits. The building is a 37 stories high, with 431 residential units along with office space and retail. "It's a lot of glass, it's exciting, it's sexy. It's going to be a real centerpiece for the middle of downtown San Diego," said Sumeet Parekh with Downtown San Diego Partnership. "It's one of the densest high rise buildings in San Diego; it's gonna hit almost the height limit for downtown which is about 500 feet." Parekh says there is a high demand to live and work in downtown, and space is scarce, so building up is something that is becoming more and more common. "There are a number of projects that are being built that is in this height," Parekh said. "There are several other projects in the area that are as tall if not bigger." (CNN) -- Cruise passengers held their breath as a 22.5 meter wide cruise liner became the largest boat to pass through Greece's narrow Corinth Canal, according to its operator.Carrying 929 passengers on board, the Braemar cruise liner narrowly managed to squeeze through the rocky walls of the canal -- which measures a maximum of 25 meters wide at the water's surface -- making it the longest boat to make the journey, cruise company Fred Olsen said.The Corinth Canal is a tidal waterway connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf, dividing the Pelopónnisos from mainland Greece.Ships have been navigating through the narrow waterways since 1893, but on Wednesday, Fred Olsen claimed to have captained the longest cruise ship through the canal.
