The Southeastern Conference has had to postpone or cancel three games this week because of positive COVID cases among several football programs."While it is unfortunate to have multiple postponements in the same week, we began the season with the understanding interruptions to the schedule were possible and we have remained focused throughout the season on the health of everyone around our programs," said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey in a press release on Tuesday. "We must remain vigilant, within our programs and in our communities, to prevent the spread of the virus and to manage activities that contribute to these interruptions."The conference has postponed Saturday's game between No. 20 Auburn and Mississippi State because of positive COVID-19 cases and quarantining within the Bulldogs' program.In a press release, the conference had to reschedule the game between the Tigers and Bulldhad to Dec. 12.On Tuesday, the conference announced that No. 5 Texas A&M would not face Tennessee because of positive COVID-19 cases and quarantining within the Aggies' program.The Volunteers and Aggies game has been rescheduled to Dec. 12, the conference said.A&M had to pause in-person activities on Monday after a player and a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from South Carolina.The conference also had to postpone Saturday's LSU game against No. 1 Alabama due to an outbreak within the LSU program.LSU already has a game on Dec. 12 because they're facing No. 6 Florida Gators, which was pushed back from October due to a COVID outbreak within the Gators program.Because LSU has a game tentatively scheduled for Dec. 12, the opportunity to reschedule Alabama at LSU game will need to be evaluated," the SEC said. The Tampa Police Department is searching for a young man who was caught on camera doing a skateboard trick across a custom-painted car in Ybor City.A spokesperson for the police department said the case is being investigated as a felony criminal mischief. Detectives would like to speak with Dalton Newbury as a person of interest. According to those who have shared the video that's getting thousands of shares on Facebook, it was originally posted to Instagram by the skateboarder himself. The Senate is expected to vote on an economic relief package this week and while it has little chance of passing the House, it is sending a very clear message to airlines: help may not be coming. United Airlines and American Airlines have both threatened thousands of their employees with layoffs if government assistance doesn't come before October 1. October 1 is the first date airlines that took bailout money from earlier this year can layoff workers under the terms set by Congress. United is looking at cutting around 16,000 employees while American is slashing around 19,000 workers. Southwest and Delta, notably, are not laying off workers after offering buyouts to many workers. For weeks, airlines and unions were holding out hope lawmakers would pass a bill after returning from their August recess. The US ambassador to Mexico has announced that she is stepping down in May.Roberta Jacobson made the announcement in a tweet in Spanish on Thursday, "I will be departing at the beginning of May, in search of other opportunities."The resignation comes at a time when US relations with Mexico have been strained over issues related to trade and migration and, Jacobson ended her tweet stating, "We are Stronger Together!""I do it knowing the US-Mexico relationship is strong and vital and that this amazing Mission Mexico team will continue to ensure it remains so," she adds.
