Two people have been killed in an explosion at a Veteran's Affair hospital in Connecticut, according to WTNH-TV and The New Haven Register.A VA spokesperson told WTNH that the explosion at the West Haven hospital was caused by a steam valve. The explosion occurred in a building that was not housing patients. Those who were killed were not patients at the hospital.According to The Associated Press, state and federal investigators are responding to the incident. Tucson police Chief Chris Magnus offered his resignation during a press conference on Wednesday.Magnus made the announcement about an April 21 incident in which a man died while in police custody.The AP reported the man who died was 27-year-old Carlos Ingram-Lopez.The medical examiner’s office didn’t determine a manner of death but said Ingram-Lopez died of sudden cardiac arrest while intoxicated by cocaine and physically restrained, the Associated Press reported.Magnus has served in the role since January 2016. No suspect description at this time.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are looking for clues after a man that was found injured on a sidewalk in the Bay Terraces neighborhood died early Friday morning.Police and firefighters responded around 12:40 a.m. to a report of a person down in the 2300 block of Spring Oak Way, between Bell Middle and Zamorano Elementary schools.Emergency crews arrived in the area and found the man suffering from traumatic injuries to his upper body, San Diego police Lt. Anthony Dupree said.The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Dupree said.The victim was described as a Hispanic male in his twenties. A skateboard was found at the scene. It's unclear if the man was a resident of the area. No further information was available at this time.Homicide investigators are now working the scene.
