Delta and other airlines have shown that their mask policies are not just a suggestion, going so far as to remove passengers from flights if they do not wear a mask.Passengers who refuse to wear a mask on Delta Airlines will no longer fly with Delta, according to internal communications."Although rare, we continue to put passengers who refuse to follow the required face-covering rules on our no-fly list," says Delta CEO Ed Bastian in an internal memo to employees shared with CNN.That has resulted in about 240 people banned from flying on Delta.The memo, dated August 27 and seen by several media organizations, was celebrating the opening of Delta’s new Salt Lake City hub, and included an update on the current state of the airline.Since implementing a mask policy in June, the number of passengers on the no-fly list has more than doubled. DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A South Florida driver recounted the terrifying moments a piece of metal smashed through his windshield while driving on Interstate 95, missing him by inches.The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident happened Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. south of the Woolbright Road exit.Officials said the metal flew off a tow truck and into Eduardo Medina's truck.The metal missed Medina by inches, leaving a few scratches on his face and hands from the glass.Medina, who speaks Spanish, had his wife Norma Rodriquez translate the moments he scary crash."All he heard was an explosion. DALLAS (AP) — A white former Texas police officer was found guilty of murder on Tuesday for fatally shooting an unarmed black teenager last year as the boy left a house party in a car full of teenagers.Roy Oliver was fired from the Balch Springs Police Department days after the April 2017 shooting. Oliver killed 15-year-old Jordan Edwards after the then-officer fired into a moving car carrying five black teenagers leaving a local house party. Edwards was in the front passenger seat.Oliver testified during the Dallas County trial that he opened fire after seeing the car move toward his partner. He says he thought his partner was in danger. But his partner told jurors he didn't fear for his life and never felt the need to fire his weapon.The shooting launched the Dallas suburb of Balch Springs into a national conversation on issues of law enforcement and race. Experts said ahead of the trial that securing convictions against an officer was challenging, in part because criminal culpability in on-duty shootings is subjective and jurors are more inclined to believe police testimony.In closing arguments, defense attorneys told the jury they needed to evaluate the circumstances from Oliver's viewpoint and from what the former officer knew at the time. But prosecutors described Oliver as out of control and looking for a reason to kill. They argued that his firing into the car wasn't reasonable.The shooting came after Oliver and his partner, Tyler Gross, had broken up a large house party following a report of underage drinking. Both officers were inside the residence when they heard gunfire outside and responded. Authorities later determined the shots were fired near a nursing home in the area.Oliver retrieved his rifle and went toward Gross, who was ordering the car carrying Edwards to stop. (KGTV and CNS) -- Authorities Sunday released the identities of the two men killed when a small plane crashed in rough terrain in East County.77-year-old David Alan Derby, a commercial pilot from Santee, and 36-year-old Ryan Michael Willis of San Diego, were found early Thursday morning after their plane didn’t return on schedule.The two took off from Gillespie Field Wednesday evening in a 1682G Champion 7KCAB certified aircraft. When the single-engine plane didn’t report back, a search ensued, leading investigators to find a possible crash site after observing a steep descent on radar.RELATED: Wreckage of missing plane with two people on board found in East CountyA helicopter was able to locate the plane near Descanso, roughly 17 miles northeast of Gillespie Field.Derby and Willis were both determined to have died in the crash.Derby held his pilot’s license since 2003, according to the FAA. DETROIT, Mich. - The number of passengers flying daily in the United State is growing but we’re only seeing a 40% total traffic when compared to a year ago.So airlines are still forced to operate on reduced schedules, some telling us it has created a flight booking headache.With travel down by about 70%, it's been a rough go for the airline industry, but passengers tell me there have been some upsides."Rescheduling the flight was a piece of cake," said one traveler."There's like no one in the middle seat, that’s super nice," said another traveler.Middle seats blocked, no change fees, and more lenient cancellations policies have all made flying much more appealing but traveling during the pandemic also mean dealing with a lot of changes."Saying it was frustrating is an understatement, it was utter chaos," said Kellie McDaniel.McDaniel of Monroe was thrilled about her November trip to the US Virgin Islands, that is until a change by the airline made it so that."Our connecting flights would not match up," said McDaniel.Now, the company did offer her a refund because they could not fix the issue."But then we were left with no airline," said McDaniel.
