ELOY, Arizona — A 70-year-old Oklahoma man is behind bars after an Eloy, Arizona police officer found a dead body in his car during a traffic stop. Authorities say the officer stopped Rodney Puckett in the area of Toltec Road along Interstate 10 on Monday. While the officer was talking to Puckett, he noticed the body of a dead woman sitting in the passenger seat. Police say the woman was identified as Rodney’s wife, 74-year-old Linda Puckett. Rodney told investigators Linda died at a hotel in Texas during the couple’s road trip. He said he moved her body into the car and continued to their destination. The couple, who married in 2011, were divorcing. Linda was issued a protective order from her husband on Feb. 6 and it was continued Monday, records show. Linda filed for divorce on Feb. 8.In another connection, Rodney was reported missing in April, but the Silver Alert for him was canceled once it was found he had not been heard from because he was in a Kansas jail. The Silver Alert said he has bipolar disorder.Linda’s body was turned over to the Pinal County Medical Examiner to determine cause of death, police said. The Eloy Police Department is working with Texas authorities to determine if Linda's death was a result of homicide. Rodney was booked into Pinal County Jail for abandonment or concealment of a body. COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Bodycam video released by Colorado Springs police Thursday shows 19-year-old De'Von Bailey running from officers when he was fatally shot earlier this month.Police claim Bailey and another man were suspects in a robbery that happened minutes earlier Aug. 3 and that Bailey had a weapon. Video showed police grabbing something from between Bailey's legs, but the footage does not clearly show what it was. Authorities have said officers recovered a weapon at the scene.The bodycam video shows Bailey and the other man standing in the street in front of police with their hands up. The officers, Sgt. Alan Van't Land and officer Blake Evenson, told Bailey and the other man that they had gotten a report of "two people, similar descriptions, possibly having a gun."One officer told the two of them to not reach for their waist and that they would check to make sure they didn't have a weapon. As another officer walked up behind Bailey, the teen took off running to his right. The officer with the bodycam chased Bailey and pulled out his weapon, yelling, "Hands up! Hands up!" The officers then fired at least eights shots at Bailey, striking him in the lower back.Bailey fell to the ground and an officer again yelled, "Hands up! Hands up!" Bailey lifted one hand and then fell back to the ground. The officers immediately called for a medical kit and began tending to Bailey's wound. As the officers searched Bailey's body, they found "something between his legs," Evenson said on the video. Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee said Wednesday that they will investigate President Donald Trump's proposal to hold next year's Group of Seven summit with world leaders at his Trump National Doral resort in Miami.In a statement, committee Chairman Jerry Nadler of New York and Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, who chairs the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, said they would schedule a September hearing to examine the plan."The President's personal financial interests are clearly shaping decisions about official U.S. government activities, and this is precisely the type of risk that the Constitution's Emoluments Clauses were intended to prevent," the lawmakers wrote. "This week's revelation about efforts to select the Trump National Doral Miami as the site of the 46th G7 summit is only the latest in a troubling pattern of corruption and self-dealing by the President."Nadler and Cohen said the move would improperly benefit Trump, as foreign governments would have to pay his private business, the resort, in order to participate in the summit."The Constitution demands that President Trump's private interests and official conduct remain separate, and this latest announcement demands scrutiny by Congress," they added, promising to look into the matter as part of the Judiciary Committee's ongoing impeachment investigation.Trump has promoted the idea publicly since the 45th G7 summit ended earlier this week, saying on Monday that his aides "went to places all over the country" before coming back from his Miami resort and telling him, "This is where we'd like it to be.""It's not about me. Trump in his Monday press briefing suggested that the economic fallout from preventing the spread of coronavirus could be worse than the actual spread of coronavirus. We cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself," Trump said.Trump's comments were back by economic adviser Larry Kudlow, who told Fox News on Monday, "The president is right. The cure can't be worse than the disease. And we're going to have to make some difficult tradeoffs."The Trump administration is requesting states to not issue updated unemployment numbers as many workers are out of work to prevent the spread of the virus. The Dow Jones has lost more than one-third of its value in the last six weeks as the virus has spread globally.Last week, the Trump administration issued a 15-day guidance to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. As part of fighting the virus, Trump boasted about several drugs that are being shipped to the states, with the hope they can be used to treat coronavirus patients. These drugs however, as of Monday, are still early in the testing phase and have not been approved by the FDA as a treatment for coronavirus.Also during Monday's news briefing, Trump and Attorney General William Barr said that an executive order will be issued to prohibit the hoarding of medical supplies. Barr said that the order won't go after individuals who have a large stockpile of supplies, but will target corporations and businesses that could potentially have warehouses full of supplies, such as masks and hand sanitizer. But keeping a reasonable supply of shelf-stable food and other supplies on hand makes sense for all kinds of emergencies, from natural disasters to stretches of unemployment.At the same time, it’s important for your wallet and your community not to hoard stuff you don’t need. You can spend a small fortune on N95 masks, for example, but those are better reserved for the health care workers who can help those who become sick enough to need treatment. Likewise, there are companies selling emergency food kits with a decades-long shelf life, but those may include stuff you or your family just won’t eat.
