The crude oil crash just got worse.US oil prices plummeted nearly 7% on Tuesday to .43 a barrel. That marks the cheapest closing price since late October 2017.The latest deep selloff coincided with more mayhem on Wall Street. The Dow shed more than 600 points on Tuesday as fears about slowing earnings and economic growth deepen."In times of crises, all assets correlate," said Matt Smith, director of commodity research at ClipperData. "Crude has gotten caught up in the flight from equities."In the span of just seven weeks, crude has gone from spiking to nosediving into a bear market. Fears of a new supply glut and weakening demand have wiped out 30% of its value since hitting a four-year high of a barrel in early October.Crude has sold off by about 7% twice in the past week. "The broad selloff in equities has traders concerned about the possibility of an economic slowdown, which could reduce demand for oil products."One new development may have also helped weigh on oil prices. Trump said in a statement. Energy traders may be interpreting the White House comments on US-Saudi ties as a sign that the kingdom won't aggressively cut oil production to support the market. The general manager at Grayton Road Tavern received a strange phone call from her manager on duty just before 9 p.m. local time Monday.Jennifer Natale said she was called when her employees found out a woman had crawled up through a ceiling tile in the women's bathroom and hadn't come out."It was honestly just one of those phone calls you don't really ever think you're going to get," Natale said. "I asked her to put me on FaceTime, she did that and it was true. There was a person who crawled up into the ceiling."The bar staff called police, and the woman was found in the ceiling over the kitchen.In surveillance video shown in the media player above, the woman is seen walking into the bathroom, and sometime later a ceiling tile falls in the hallway."It was a really hot day. I can't even imagine how hot it was for that two-hour period," Natale said.Monday was a record-breaking day reaching 93 degrees in the Cleveland area.Police told Natale the woman had pulled similar stunts in the past. The bar is known for its Queen of Hearts game, which left one lucky winner with .5 million in March. The Columbus Dispatch reported it obtained a copy of a police incident report where Courtney Smith, the ex-wife of now fired Ohio State football assistant coach Zach Smith, claimed that Ohio State lawyers told her not to press charges.The police report was obtained from an anonymous source and not directly from the Powell, Ohio Police Department. The Dispatch said that Powell Police Chief Gary Vest did not dispute the authenticity of the report. The report, which was dated Oct. 26, 2015, Officer Ben Boruchowitz of the Powell Police wrote, "The victim states that last year, the suspect choked her until she could not breathe. The victim states that the suspect tells her all the time that he will kill her.”In the report, according to the Dispatch, Courtney Smith told Boruchowitz that OSU lawyers were "convincing her to drop the charge because it would embarrass OSU if she proceeded with the prosecution.”After the Dispatch's report came out, Courtney Smith told ESPN that she had not seen a copy of the incident report, but that the claim that OSU lawyers told her to drop the charges was not accurate. OSU officials told the Dispatch it was unaware of the allegation and would investigate. Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer, who was aware of the 2015 incident, did not fire Zach Smith until last month when he was made aware that Courtney Smith had filed a protection order against Zach Smith. Meyer claimed that because charges were not filed against Zach Smith, he was not obligated to notify Ohio State.After a three-week investigation, Meyer was suspended for three games for mishandling Zach Smith's employment with Ohio State.
