ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A St. Petersburg man was stunned to see a credit card arrive with his name. The problem is he never applied for it.Adam Hickson pulled out a Chase Sapphire card from a UPS envelope addressed to him. The card had his full name and a limit of nearly ,000.“How could this happen? How did they get my identity?" asked Hickson. "I have no idea how they got my information right now. I can only speculate.”According to the Better Business Bureau, identity theft is the fastest-growing type of fraud in North America. “There’s not a lot of ways to prevent this from happening to you," said Jen Smith, a personal finance expert.Smith says this type of fraud can happen to anyone, especially in this age of data breaches.“It can be really disrupting because money controls so much of your life," she said.Scammers can pay for names, addresses, even social security numbers off the dark web. Hickson says he immediately called Chase when he got the card and filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. No money was taken. 1059

Should you eat before or after exercise in the morning? The debate has raged for years. The eat-first camp says food before exercise boosts blood sugars, giving the body fuel to increase the intensity and length of a workout. It also keeps you from being fatigued or dizzy. The eat-after camp says you burn more fat if you fast before exercise.A small UK study published Friday supports the latter point of view: In 30 obese or overweight men, those who exercised before breakfast burned twice the fat as men who ate breakfast before they worked out. That's because exercising with no fuel forces the body to turn to stored carbs, and when those are quickly gone, to fat cells.Unfortunately the eat-after group didn't lose more weight than the eat-before group during the six weeks of the study, but it did have "profound and positive" effects on the health of the group that fasted, researchers said.Skipping the meal before exercise made the men's muscles more responsive to insulin, which controls high blood sugars, thus reducing the risk for diabetes and heart disease."The group who exercised before breakfast increased their ability to respond to insulin, which is all the more remarkable given that both exercise groups lost a similar amount of weight and both gained a similar amount of fitness," said exercise physiologist Javier Gonzalez, an associate professor in the department for health at the University of Bath, in a statement."The only difference was the timing of the food intake," Gonzalez added.A 1527

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Machelle Hobson, an Arizona mother who ran a popular YouTube channel known as "Fantastic Adventures" and was facing dozens of child abuse charges, has died at a hospital in Scottsdale, according to Ricardo Alvarado, public information officer for the Maricopa Police Department. The Pinal County Attorney's Office said on Tuesday evening that they will wait for an official death certificate before dismissing charges, but will continue to pursue Hobson's assets, which includes more than 0,000 in cash. All of the seized money will go to the seven children, who are back in the state's custody and likely in a new foster home.Scottsdale police said Hobson died of "health conditions," and they don't anticipate an ongoing death investigation.Hobson, 48, was arrested in March at her home in Maricopa, Arizona, a community about 30 minutes south of Phoenix. While her family was racking up millions of views on YouTube with scripted skits, detectives alleged her foster children were living in a house of horrors.According to court documents, and reports, the children told investigators that they were starved for days, locked in closets for days, forced to sleep on the floor, and physically beaten for failing to remember their lines. Detectives found bottles of pepper spray at the home, which was sometimes used on children's genitals, according to court documents.Hobson was facing 29 charges, including 1440
