UPDATE: Tuesday's meeting was canceled due to an illness.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - On Tuesday night, the City of San Diego's Parks and Recreation Department will present two options for redeveloping the De Anza area to the Mission Bay Park Committee.The meeting is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at Mission Bay High School.The two plans were released to the public over the summer. Both feature improvements to sports fields, the Mission Bay Golf Course, green space, walking paths, playgrounds and beaches. Both also have new wildlife habitat areas included, although they vary on how many acres (27 or 38). (AP) — Crews were battling wildfires in the San Francisco Bay Area and thousands of people were under orders to evacuate Wednesday as hundreds of wildfires blazed across the state amid a blistering heat wave now in its second week. Gov. Gavin Newsom blamed the extraordinary weather and thousands of lightning strikes for 367 known fires, including 23 major fires or groups of fires. He said the state has recorded nearly 11,000 lightning strikes in 72 hours. Update, 12:19 p.m.: Police say Caballero-Jimenez was found safe.SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police are asking for the public's help Thursday to find a 29-year-old man who went missing in Chula Vista.Pedro Caballero-Jimenez, who suffers from depression and epilepsy, was seen on Sunday crossing into the U.S. from Mexico at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, according to the San Diego Police Department. He took a taxi cab to Chula Vista and has not been seen since.Police did not disclose an approximate time or location where he was last seen.Caballero-Jimenez is Hispanic, 6 feel tall and about 230 pounds.
