Former Trump administration national security adviser Michael Flynn has filed court papers to withdraw his guilty plea. He says federal prosecutors acted in “bad faith" and breached their deal with him. The request comes one week after the Justice Department changed its position on Flynn's punishment by recommending he serve up to six months in prison for lying to the FBI during its investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. No one should have to make these kinds of decisions.”A new JAMA study found 40 of 49 top name-brand prescription drugs have had skyrocketing prices in the last six years. On average, the cost of the drugs jumped 76 percent.Most of the drugs continue to increase in price once and even twice per year.The JAMA report noted that even competition does not keep prices from rising. Popular diabetes drugs saw large price increases despite doctors being able to prescribe them interchangeably.“There has to be change. Otherwise more people will die needlessly,” Devore said.Both Congress and the Trump White House have promised to find ways to lower costs of drugs, and several bills are in the works. He says it's a way of life.Montana is one of the most permissive states for gun laws. Openly carrying a gun is allowed in most areas. Concealed carry permits are offered, and concealed carry without a permit is allowed outside of a city, town or logging camp.The City of Missoula is one area that has enacted tougher gun laws.“My dad was an avid hunter, but we knew better than to mess with his guns,” said Penny Wagenaar. Wagenaar says she has fired an automatic weapon, but she believes in tougher background checks and regulation on those types of guns. “If it shoots a lot what do you need that for?” Wagenaar said. “It’d be just awful if you had to use it to protect yourself and harm somebody else.”One time in his life, Nedens wanted to pull his gun while walking along a road with his wife in their tiny town.“A carload of people came pulling up and swerved into us, trying to scare us off the road and then they went up the road and turned around and came back and tried to hit us from behind and finally stopped.”They got out, six of them, drunk.Nedens says he would have pulled his gun but wasn't carrying. He had a knife though.“I believe if I would have had a gun I would have been, I would have felt a lot safer,” said Nedens. Nedens says he loves guns for their beauty. He owns many he'll never fire. Forty-five people in 13 states have reported becoming ill with a strain of Salmonella, many of whom after giving their dogs pig ear dog treats since November, the CDC reported. Of the 45 people sickened, 12 were hospitalized. Of those interviewed, 71 percent reported contact with pig ear dog treats or with dogs who were fed pig ear dog treats.The report did not contain a recall, but some pig ear treats have been pulled from shelves. The CDC said that the Michigan Department of Agriculture tested pig ears for salmonella. Although the outbreak strain of salmonella was not found in the pig ears, of strains were. The CDC said that investigators are checking to see if the pig ears tested were responsible for the illnesses.
