As our country works to rebound, we're helping you manage the pressure as the pandemic is shifting caregiving responsibilities.More millennials are taking on this responsibility now. They're becoming a greater percentage of what's known as the "sandwich generation." Those are people who are caring for both their own kids and their aging parents.New numbers from insurance company New York Life show a third of millennials are doing this now.“We're not replacing the typical 49-year-old woman who's the family caregiver. She's still doing it, but the need is so great that more and more young people are called into the role as well and that's going to continue well after the COVID pandemic,” said John Schall, CEO of the Caregiver Action Network.Nearly half of the so-called "sandwich generation" expect to be a caregiver in some capacity for six or more years. The added financial strain is one concern. Schall says out of pocket expenses can be about a thousand dollars a month.More than half of these caregivers say they're spending more than usual per month to care for others as a result of the pandemic. That means they're contributing less to their savings and their retirement. There's also the concern about the mental toll.“With millennial generation caregivers, you may not be thinking about depression, you know, at that age, but the fact is the sheer stress of the role of being a family caregiver increases that risk of depression twice as often,” said Schall. If you are feeling overwhelmed, the caregiver help desk from the Caregiver Action Network can be one place to turn. You can call them free of charge at 855-227-3640. 1648

As the pandemic has stretched on, maybe you have run out of things to watch on your Netflix playlist. Or maybe you have a hard time deciding what to watch when you finally get a moment to relax. The streaming service has a solution: Shuffle Play. The new feature will appear on the main page below your profile icon, according to some users who are already seeing it.Netflix confirmed to TechCrunch.com the button will randomly play content it thinks you will like, it could be a movie or show you are currently watching, something you’ve saved or a title similar to things in your queue.Netflix has experimented with “shuffle” concepts, releasing a sidebar option called “play something” earlier this summer for some users. Last year, there was a shuffle mode that would play random episodes of tv series you liked. 822

As President Donald Trump and Republicans attempt to reverse the results of last week’s presidential election in Pennsylvania, a significant case often cited by Trump’s supporters has lost steam. The House Oversight Committee, led by Democratic Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, announced that Richard Hopkins has “recanted” his claim of election fraud in Erie County, Pennsylvania. Hopkins had previously accused fellow USPS employees of changing the date of ballots submitted after the election. 501

As the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies prepare to return to play following a week hiatus, the St. Louis Cardinals will be forced to sit out for another few days.On Monday, MLB announced it has postponed this week's three-game series between St. Louis and Detroit following a number of Cardinals players testing positive for the coronavirus late last week. The Cardinals' COVID-19 outbreak was the second COVID-19 rash MLB has encountered since resuming the season 11 days ago.According to MLB, 13 members of the Cardinals, including players and staff, have tested positive for the virus. The team has been holed up in Milwaukee since Thursday and remains quarantined there. The team is slated to resume play on Friday in St. Louis against the Cubs. The start of the coronavirus-shortened MLB season has been bumpy as several prominent players have opted to walk away from the season. Most notably, Mets star slugger Yoenis Cespedes said Sunday he would no longer participate in the 2020 season over coronavirus concerns.Earlier in the weekend, Red Sox ace Eduardo Rodriguez declined to return to baseball after facing complications from the coronavirus. Rodriguez told MassLive that he discovered a heart condition following his bout with the virus. 1264

Average rates on long-term mortgages continue to fall to new record lows, as the key 30-year loan dropped below 3% for the first time in 50 years. The stagnant economic recovery in the face of the coronavirus pandemic is keeping inflation tamped down despite pent-up homebuying demand. Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac says the average rate on the 30-year home loan fell this week to 2.98% from 3.03% last week. These are the lowest levels since Freddie Mac began tracking averages in 1971. The rate averaged 3.81% a year ago.In their update, Freddie Mac says the low rates has led to increased homebuyer demand. Meanwhile, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association, refinancing applications increased recently, about 12 percent in the last week. However, Freddie Mac warns that with an increase in coronavirus cases, the economy can stagnate and cause temporary job layoffs to possibly become permanent. The average rate on the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage declined to 2.48% from 2.51%, from last week. 1008
