SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are searching for an at-risk man who disappeared from a senior living facility late Saturday afternoon. According to police, 77-year-old Mario Aello left The Shores Post-Acute senior living facility around 4:45 p.m. Saturday. Aello reportedly told another patient he had plans to leave the facility to visit his sister in Sonora, Mexico. Aello suffers from short-term dementia and type two diabetes, police say. Aello is described as five feet, seven inches tall with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, a black and gray jacket, blue shorts and brown shoes. 610

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police Wednesday released bodycam video following a deadly officer-involved shooting in Oak Park in late January. The graphic video opens with San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit explaining what led up to the shooting. According to Nisleit, officers spotted Toby Diller, 31, on the 2900 block of 54th Street with an open container of alcohol. Video of the incident shows the officers, later identified as Benjamin Downing and Devion Johnson, running after Diller before catching up to him. At that point, Nisleit says Diller resisted arrest, grappling with police on the ground. "The officers gave him verbal commands to stop resisting, but he refused to cooperate,'' Lt. Matt Dobbs previously said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was found dead inside a Logan Heights home late Saturday night. Police were called to the home on the 2800 block of Clay Avenue around 10:35 p.m.According to police, a resident came home and discovered the man, later identified as 19-year-old Joshua Noe Martinez, suffering trauma to his upper body. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - National Guard troops have not been at the border for too long, but are already making their presence felt.Border Patrol officers last week arrested a 31-year-old woman on Interstate 15 they say was transporting 51 bundles of methamphetamine in her vehicle.The woman's vehicle was transported to a Border Patrol facility where agents continued searching the vehicle with the help of National Guardsman who have recently been deployed to the border.RELATED: Border Patrol officials discuss National Guard deployment to US-Mexico borderDuring the secondary search, agents initially did not locate any additional narcotics, officials said. Eventually, a National Guardsman found another 11 bundles of meth hidden deep within a door panel.In all, border agents discovered more than 68 pounds of meth valued at 6,000."Although the California National Guardsman have been on duty for only a couple of weeks, they have quickly fit in and are a great asset in assisting the Border Patrol to protect our communities," San Diego Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodney Scott said.The woman has been turned over to Riverside County law enforcement and faces narcotics smuggling charges.RELATED: Thousands of kids a year migrate to the US alone.
