Claude Panis of the Huntington Beach Fire Department Marine Safety Divison.He says summer is always a challenging time at the beach and that the pandemic has increased the dangers.“I think people have been locked up and they're really itching to get outside,” Panis said. “And of course, the beach is a popular destination.”Panis said when people are in trouble in the ocean the first thing to do is to stay calm and try not to panic.Back on the Carolina Coast, Andre is dealing with challenges in and out of the ocean.“We’ve had a pretty huge influx of Portuguese man-of-war lately which are really dangerous, extremely painful jellys that will sting you,” he said.Andre is looking to stay safe by avoiding marine life and large crowds.“I have a small handful of friends who I will invite to come out on the boat and we will go find a sandbar of own,” he said.Searching for safety by finding a private beach during the pandemic. 2228

Reaching this decision wasn't easy, and it wasn't one I made lightly," said Ricketts, who founded TD Ameritrade and is worth a little more than billion according to Forbes.He added that DNAinfo, which was founded in 2009, "is, at the end of the day, a business, and businesses need to be economically successful if they are to endure.""And while we made important progress toward building DNAinfo into a successful business, in the end, that progress hasn't been sufficient to support the tremendous effort and expense needed to produce the type of journalism on which the company was founded. A week after a 13-year-old girl vanished, a local sheriff is seeking a cadre of volunteers that's equivalent to two-thirds of the population of the small Wisconsin city near the teenager's home.Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald on Monday asked for 2,000 volunteers to help authorities in an expanded routine search of the area around the crime scene Tuesday for possible evidence in the investigation into Jayme Closs' disappearance. The teenager vanished early October 15 and her parents were found fatally shot in their home near the city of Barron in northwestern Wisconsin. Barron, a city of less 3 square miles, has a population of about 3,300, according to US Census figures.Monday's call for volunteers is 10 times the number of volunteers the sheriff sought last week. A Waterford mother went through what she calls "the scariest 10 minutes of her life" while visiting her grandmother last weekendLacey Guyton was leaving her grandmother's when she put her 2-month-old daughter in the car. She says she put her daughter in her car seat, and the diaper bag in the back seat and shut the car door — only to discover that the door had locked.She immediately called 911 and was surprised by what the dispatcher told her — that 911 does not dispatch emergency services to unlock cars or break windows.Guyton said the dispatcher then offered to connect her to a tow company but knew she needed to get inside the car immediately to save her baby."I saw her start to close her eyes and I just ran to the back window and smashed it open," she said.Guyton says Waterford police contacted her to apologize about what happened, but she wants to set the record straight. "They never had the chance to respond. Nobody told them. They didn’t know, and had they known I feel they would have definitely come out," Guyton said.She says she was just overwhelmed by the amount of support she’s received from everyone following the incident. "There’s been so many people reaching out to me, hundreds of people telling me their stories, thanking me for putting this out there," Guyton said.Mother and daughter are now both doing well. 1391
