Some residents in 34 counties in California will lose electricity overnight Tuesday into Wednesday in hopes to reduce the risk of the spread of wildfires, PG&E announced on Tuesday. The power outages could last several days, PG&E said. This is due to high winds that are expected in parts of California on Wednesday and Thursday. Isolated areas could have winds of 60 to 70 MPH. SUNNYVALE, Calif. – A United Parcel Service (UPS) worker was planning a mass shooting at the facility he worked at in California, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. The department says it learned of the threat Sunday after receiving a report that 32-year-old Thomas Andrews had sent text messages to his employer, threatening the shooting. Officers began investigating and discovered Andrews was the registered owner of four handguns and rifle. Law enforcement then began an extensive search for him. At about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, the department says officers spotted Andrews and attempted to stop him, but he led them in a vehicle pursuit on a nearby highway.
