"For other entities that have chosen to act irresponsibly, entities in particular like the Awaken Church where we have been forced to have to share outbreak information because of their lack of cooperation and notifying members of their congregation about cases there, we continue to implore the public to recognize the very real danger of indoor religious services."Following the initial announcements of an outbreak, the church continued to hold indoor services. The church has received multiple cease-and-desist orders from the county.The church's website says it has moved Wednesday services in San Diego online through December. Sunday services on the church's website did not appear to be changed. The church also has locations in El Cajon and Carlsbad.Officials advised members of the church to wear face coverings and practice social distancing, and to avoid large gatherings.Generally, the county does not reveal the locations of community outbreaks, which are three or more COVID-19 cases from different households within two weeks at one location. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County has served Pacers Showgirls International with a cease and desist order in violation of health orders days after San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham was stabbed outside the strip club.The county's letter says the Midway District strip club was allowing "live entertainment," like exotic dancing, "in violation of the Order of the State Health Officer and County Order of the Health Officer and Emergency Regulations."Under the county's current tier for California's pandemic guidance, San Diego County restaurants are allowed to operate outdoor in-person dining and indoor in-person dining at 25% capacity, but live entertainment is not allowed.The county's letter says if the strip club doesn't suspend its entertainment, it can receive a misdemeanor citation and ,000 fine for each violation. The facility could be ordered to close as well.The order says the violations were reported after Pham was stabbed in the parking lot outside the strip club on Sunday night.San Diego Police said Pham was involved in an altercation. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man suspected of threatening a Target employee with a razor during a robbery.Police say the incident happened around 10 a.m. on March 25 at the Target on the 1200 block of Camino Del Rio North.According to police, a loss prevention officer noticed a man inside the store he recognized from previous encounters.Police say the man grabbed three memory cards and attempted to remove them from their cases.After removing one of the memory cards and placing it in his pocket, the man was confronted by the officer who followed him to the exit.The suspect then threatened the officer with a folding razor knife he removed from his waistband.The suspect is described as a six-foot tall 28-year-old white male wearing a tan colored long-sleeve dress shirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes.Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego Police at 619-531-2299. 951

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Supervisors are responding to a Team 10 investigation detailing the death of a child in foster care.Tyler Walter died Sept. 22, 2018. The cause of death listed on his autopsy is blunt head trauma.In a claim filed against the County of San Diego, Lisa Walter stated that her son Tyler, "was healthy when he was in my care he was thriving, he needed his mother and placing him with my 19-year-old niece was negligent."A representative for San Diego County Supervisors Greg Cox and Nathan Fletcher, Co-Chairs of the county's Child & Family Strengthening Advisory Board, says they can't comment on the specific situation in question because it represents ongoing litigation.RELATED: Mother claims San Diego County was negligent in death of her child while in Foster CareThe supervisors did release a statement about the child welfare system overall saying, "Any day a child dies is a horrifically sad day. Our child welfare system in America exists to protect children and preserve families, and we take that responsibility seriously. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego officials are offering a new location to help temporarily shelter migrants seeking asylum.The city says it has identified a new property to use as a shelter since its current temporary shelter doesn't have the occupancy for long-term sheltering, in a letter to California's Office of Emergency Services."The county recently vacated the Camp Barrett youth correctional facility in Alpine. The facility is already classified for residential occupancy and therefore does not require significant alteration to be used as a shelter," Robert Vacchi, deputy chief operating officer of San Diego's Neighborhood Services, wrote.RELATED: Exclusive look inside San Diego shelter for migrant asylum seekersCamp Barrett was closed in October following years of steadily decreasing populations at the county's in-custody facilities, according to the county. The remaining population was relocated to a Urban Camp facility in Kearny Mesa. Vacchi writes the property could be leased to the state or third-party on a temporary basis to use as a shelter for asylum-seeking migrants.The Alliance Healthcare Foundation has agreed to fund the operation of a facility, according to Vacchi, and the city has been in talks with the agency to secure shelter operations.The city is facing a Feb. 4 deadline to vacate the current shelter being used for migrant asylum seekers.
